Technically wouldn't Eggplant be the plant that produces Eggfruit? It's like calling a Tomato(fruit) a Tomatoplant 🤔.

@@zebedeemadness2672 But the actual plant is just (some sort of) a tree and doesn't look lke an egg.... Well logic, language and history don't always agree with eachother. Also a fruit is also a plant. Doesn't mean "the whole plant".

@@Thisandthat8908 The original Aubergine fruit look alot more Egg like, wasn't as big or purple, the fruit was White and more egg shaped. Aubergine plant isn't a tree, the Aubergine or Egg (fruit) "plant" isn't a plant it's the fruit of a plant.

don't dismiss the Aubergine genre either! (yep that's an Eggplant to us Brits) Baddiel's aubergine falling off the painting's nose at the worst possible time was hilarious! Baddiel & Skinner Live (not sure if any clips here on YT but damn that show was funny as heck) Cheers as always guys!

The number of times in my life, that I've been caught with an unzipped fly. If only I had thought to say: "oh sorry, that's just my egg plant", so much embarrassment could have been avoided.

I would have also hidden bulky items already in the room as well, making him think they were the egg plants thus wasting more time than needed. Hindsight eh!

I actually just watched this episode last night, I'm binging the lot of them again, such a great show.

You need to check why USA-ians call aubergines(the French for egg plant) eggplants, originally they were the shape and size of eggs and originally white, through selective breeding the are now a variety of shapes, sizes and colour's, each with their own varietal names.

I know you call aubergine egg plant but it’s not just a vegetable so what do you call the colour Aubergine ?

In fact, the reason we refer to them as eggplants is because the first ones brought to North America were actually a white variety of aubergine, which literally looked like an egg. Thus, eggplant.

Hi Jodi & Nick, you said that you would hide some in the long panel of drawers along the wall, but what you don't know is that there is only one drawer that actually opens. 😄 🙂 As you were presuming about the bookcase some are fake but some are real 😮 when both of you have watched a lot more of the Taskmaster you will understand, you really need to watch some full episodes to enjoy the whole experience of the Taskmaster.

the problem with this task is really that the ones that were filmed later, Alex had already experience with searching the room. And because they don't tell you that or edit ti that way, it's not really accounted for in the scoring. In the taskmaster podcast for a episode they often go into more behind the scenes detail, if a contestant is guest. n this case Ed Gamble, the host was a contestant himself, so they might. Gotta check.

This isn't the first time Alex has been in that room 😂 so going first is of no consequence. Obviously you'd know that if you reacted to more than clips, but hey-ho.

Aubergines doesn't need an apostrophe (in the title).

The one shown last has either done something incredibly clever - or useless / stupid . David Baddiel is legendary in Taskmaster circles .

Omg I was thinking to put one on the painting as it might blend in.

We use the French style whereas in the US you take from Italy, French, Dutch and Germanic in a big mix. 😂

I don't know if it's possible to be deliberately worse than David Baddiel was on Taskmaster. It was fun watching though!

I would have taken the top off one, took the light bulb (the lit one) that was on the top of the shelves to the left of the painting and pushed it in the top, so it looked like a lamp.

The difference between 'eggplant' and 'Aubergine', is spelling. 😁

Look nothing like an egg

I would have blocked the door. Move the couch in front of the door and sat down in it. Much harder to search the room if you aren't in it. :) It didn't say that you had to cooperate. :) And you have to react to "Get This Potato In The Golf Hole Without Touching The Green - FULL TASK" from Taskmaster. In that task, one of television histories greatest moments can be seen. :)

If you are annoyed with people not really putting an effort in, you will HATE David Badil. The worst contender in Taskmaster history i believe. And it's mostly for the lack of trying.

Can we please ditch the 'Aaaaallright' at the start of the Vids please. Ear scraping cringe. Cheers.
