Tana makes UMU cooking easy!

Tana makes an Umu on Sunday to feed the family. His process is quick and easy and doesn’t requiring any digging or dirt. He built an above ground oven that can cook a meal for 5 big Polynesian families! This is the traditional way of cooking back in Tonga, and we are fortunate that we can continue to make some of our traditional foods the same way that we would back on the island.

Yes, you can either chop it up or just leave it the way it is. My husband likes to leave it whole. But I personally like it, boiled and then deep fried. It taste amazing! Thanks for watching!
