Both of those are indeed brilliant models. I like the slightly longer wheelbase on the Racing Fighter.

Ah yes the modern buggy does have the better handling (when it is working) but I just love the scale looks of the Wild One and it's just very Tamiya. Great stuff guys 😁👍👍

To be honest I’m not sure if the Blockhead livery does anything for it really. Maybe an upgrade or 3 might change my mind 🤔😂👍

I am a very proficient cone smasher myself, you guys did well running them all down! Both are great buggies but the price point on the DT-03 buggies is hard to beat! Glad you guys had a good time out there and it was fun watching them!

Cones are pesky things. I’d have to agree, voting with your wallet the DT-03 is hard to beat, even upgraded!

Whack-a-cone, or Plow a pylon. Great game there, two beauties for sure

We realised very early on that there was no point in trying to avoid them as it was inevitable 🤣😂👍

Some good classic RC action there of working out why they don’t work… all part of the fun of RCing. Great video chaps. For the money the DT03 is exceptional value as a starter kit with potential

It is hard to compete when you look at the price, I would say that the DT-03 is better all round 🤔👍

I’ve had a lot of trouble with my BZ motor the crap off the new brushes builds up and does this if you pull the brushes off the comm by. The brush wires then when you can hear the brushes hit the comm with a slight tap it works for a good long time then

I’m going to be swapping esc soon, it’s annoying as the TBLE2 is better than the TBLE4 with the BZ 🤷‍♂️👍

DT03 is a fantastic chassis for the money and handles really well, I find with the more expensive models Tamiya ignore simple upgrades that would make all the difference. Flimsy steering rods, plastic body mounts and esc that ain’t waterproof, their the difference between a good chassis and a great usable chassis that doesn’t break when out for a run

I just don’t get the design of the wild one it looks to flat like it’s been run over by a car, and it’s still top heavy

Dragrace🤣🤣🤣 Yes the Tamiya ESCs (min 25T) might have issues with the Z-motors (21 or 23T, too lazy to check it). I had the same problem on two cars. The 1060s are more suitable. This is not tennis, the absense of a competetor doesn't automaticly define the winner.

I think at some point I need to cover the expense and replace all the ESCs, as this does seem a weak point. I still think the DT-03 is the winner though 👍

@@RCsoandso life is full of risk if you're careful with the lipos you won't have to worry about. And a lot of battery chargers tell you everything that's going on with that battery.

Guy price should be no issue. If you want it ,then get it over and done with. Next pay week or pay cheque you will be flush again. No brainer. If you have to make a few small sacrifices no big deal. For instance if you like an occasional drink at the pub well cut back on that. Or possibly you might like getting a cappuccino or 3 at your local cafe. No big deal to go without coffee or at least every second day instead of every day. Then if you are a smoker , well you should just give up on the cancer sticks altogether. Easy👌👍

I completely get it, and if you have to sacrifice for something you want it makes you appreciate it more. On this occasion I feel the cheaper buggy preformed the best, so if you were to look at price and performance to be factors on picking a winner the DT-03 would win. I’ve just bought a new model, I wasn’t expecting to, but it was on sale and it was a fab deal, so I’ve bought it 👍

Great game of RC 'Skittkes' guys!! 🚙 🎳 😂 So Im guessing the winner is who took out the most amount of cones right?! 🤔 Who would have thought how hard it really is to go between them rather than at them? 😂 And, God knows why a drag race (literally driving in a straight line) is so hard to do? I'm not mocking..... this actually comes as great comfort, as this video clearly echoes our own experiences! 😂...... or maybe we are just all crap drivers, and should just stick with lunchboxs that do their own thing regardless of the drivers ability?! 😉 This was an entertaining viewing for sure. Both buggies performed pretty well in all honesty, especially with the stunning superstock brushed motors (my personal weapon of choice in most of my vintage Tamiyas) In all honesty there is actually a fairly large age gap between the design of both of those buggies, so I think the wild one done rather well against the far more modern DT 03. Glad you got to the bottom of the Gremlins..... It's very rare to get a full run in without some kind of issues with at least one of the cars, but it's all part of the fun of the hobby. Those pesky pinion grub screws are a pain in the arris.... overtighten them and the grub screw strips meaning 'that' motor has to stay in that car for ever (or attempt to drill it out which is never a fun job trust me!) Or, don't overtighten and risk the pinion falling off mid run..... yep, been there to on many occasions! Lock tight is your friend on this one. All in all a fun days rc'ing by the looks of it.... and it didn't rain! 😂 👍 👍 👍

I think driving ability and an overly complicated radio are my main issues. The DT-03 did well I have to say. The Wild One does always seem to pick up an issue, admittedly simple to solve, but if I was stuck on an island I hope this one wouldn’t make it. I love the BZ and I will use them religiously but I need to order a job lot of ESCs I think, maybe even to try and drive the price down. We are off filming tomorrow and have another head to head planned, but I think we will bin the cones 🤣😂👍

@@RCsoandso Sounds kinda like my driving ability mate.... Or should I say lack of it! Regarding the transmitter, I have a top of the range modern Futaba set that does a million functions..... which remains in its box!! 😂 Way too complicated, way too many settings and buttons..... so I went back to the classic Acoms techniplus mk2 and Futaba Attack stick controls from the eighties. I really struggle with these modern gun controllers. As for the desert island, come on mate.... you know there's only one choice there.... It's big, bouncy, rolls over a lot, and generally comes in yellow! 😂 The ESC situation baffles me.... I have probably around ten cars all running on either 23 turn RZ, TZ, or BZ's, or 21 turn technigolds. Every one of them has a TBLEO2S ESC fitted, and I've never had any issues what so ever! (these motors are pushing the capacity of these ESC's to the max, in fact a little over what is recommended) I have another 5 or so similar cars running on Superstocks and a few 14 turn brushed motors using Hobby wing 1060 ESC's and have had many issues with them going into limp mode, and even had one puff a little majic blue smoke! I believe the hobby wing 1080 range is supposed to be better. Also, look out for counterfeit hobby wing 1060's..... The Internet is flooded with them, and I've been caught out multiple times whilst trying to save a few quid!
