TAMIYA TT-02 TOYOTA CELICA ST165 GT-FOUR REVIEW AND DRIVE
MY NEW TAMIYA TT-02 ST165 GT-FOUR.
GEAR RATIO 11.38:1 IS A SHORT GEAR RATIO AND WILL RESULT IN MORE ACCELERATION
GEAR RATIO 7.28:1 IS A TALLER GEAR RATIO AND WILL RESULT IN MORE TOP SPEED
TOTALLY STOCK STANDARD RC IN THE VIDEO HOWEVER I HAVE ORDERED NEW PARTS.

-BATTERY: TORNADO RC5000MAH 7.2V NIMH
-MOTOR: STOCK RS540 TORQUE TUNED
-SERVO: GENERIC PLASTIC GEARED SERVO (UNBRANDED)
-RECEIVER: FSA3
-TRANSMITTER: FS-GT2F (THE TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER CAME AS A BUNDLE)
-TYRES: RALLY TYRES AND RIMS FROM EBAY (UNBRANDED)
NEW PARTS ORDERED LIST:
-YEAH RACING GYRO GC301
-YEAH RACING 55MM OIL FILLED SHOCKS
-68T SPUR GEAR TAMIYA
-SET OF 18T,19T,20T,21T PINION GEARS
-ALLOY DRIVE SHAFT AND CUPS
-FULL SET OF SEALED BALL BEARINGS
-STAINLESS STEEL SKID PLATES
THE GREASE IVE USED TO MAKE THE DIFF SEMI LSD IS ANTI WEAR.
OVERALL THIS CAR IS GREAT FUN AND MORE SUITED TO A ONROAD BUILD I FEEL.

The bare spot in the front is where the spur gear would go if it was turned around. It's a cheap design flaw by Tamiya in my opinion, but it can be covered with a bit of rag and some Shoe Goo. I had to do that for the gear cover to fit a big pinion on mine. Oil shocks and bearings are a must on these cars too. Makes a world of difference. Nice Yota' man!

@@DIFFLOCKERS Yep, And I like your fix for the front lower arms that keep popping off. Super annoying issue with the TT02, but they aren't meant to be driven hard like we do.. so I don't get too upset about it. Have fun out there!

Awesome job. Honestly this kit was going to be my first Tamiya. I’m very excited to watch you upgrade this. I have faith this car is going to be really fun to drive once those shocks and that gyro get in there. Do you have access to a track that can record lap times? Also I love how the tires from your 14302 fit perfectly. 👍

Thanks man I appreciate the support the shocks are the first thing I need upgraded you can see how bouncy the standard ones are. Yeah I do ill have to purchase a transponder for my local RC club I go to so I can lap time it. Also the Honda Civic shell came today and it looks like it will fit the 14302 with a few tweaks.

Those stickers always suck some of them could he reduced to one like the windows. They do look good when done. The only thing i ever hate about this chassis it the steering setup, but good for the price
