Tamiya Hilux High Lift | with the Red Leaf Springs

This Tamiya Hilux High Lift was my very first RC. It was a kit then. Since it is running on leaf springs it really can not perform the impossible like the TRX4/TRX6 or the REDCAT with 4 links. The stock TAMIYA springs are stiff.
As I moveon with this hobby i come along with this leaf springs from RC4WD, so there i give it a go.
And wow, i never enjoyed this truck more than ever since i have it.
In this run i noticed some things that needs to be improved. i installed the stock trx4 motor and esc. i think i will change with a holmes hobbies/ hobbywing combo. and yeah not to forget the transmission- it is really low- hang up many times. it is like having a dig unit. it is either i need to be a better driver or i do something to raise it at least a centimeter of the ground.
Im running with the stock gen8 wheel tire combo, irock super swampers, they are nice and grippy. they are big and scratching the body but i will still keep them to gain more clearance anyways they are not scratching all the time.
With this improved performance, i will consider repainting this rig for sure.

Hey really good job on the rig . Nice to see the hilux flex . The gen8 wheels sit in perfectly ! Having stock dampers on it , what are your suggestion on damper combo with rc4wd super soft springs

hi bro…sorry from then on i did not do more modifications on my tamiya..im on to my other rigs..for the shocks i may leave it as is for the meantime- my planned next modification will be on the electronics to have better modulation

@@freshstonerc great build tough. Same was with me had been on other rigs . Just got hold of the high lift . Quiet capable chassis. Just added brushless crawler motor and esc . Stock wheels and suspension are big disappointment. P.s. you have a very desirable hilux setup . Simple clean and effective
What type wheel n tire are those ? ❤the car👌
