Probably my favourite Speyside distillery! They offer tours during the Spirit of Speyside Festival!
Thank you for showing us your tour of the distillery. I can’t wait to get hold of a bottle of Tomdhu. Am a newbie and hasn’t yet tried a sherry cask matured whisky.
I visited this distillery in the early 80's,fell in love with this whisky, the tour guide said that an Australian was given a dram and added a mixer before tasting, guide said he wanted to give him a good slapping hihi, fully understand his anger.
They have become one of my gotos. Have drank the 10, 12, Batch 1 and Batch 4.Even one of my non-whisky drinking friends liked the Batch 1! Need to track down a 15 now. I DO miss the round tubes though!
Sandy seems like a stand up guy! I would love to share a dram with him :)
Thanks for highlighting this under-known distillery... this tour has certainly done its job. I think I'll be going after a bottle of the batch strength for new years. =)
That was fantastic Ben, can't tell you how much i enjoyed it. Great to see a distillery operating differently to many others and I hope to see it open to the public someday. Great quality too by the way, that just adds to it. Thank you very much indeed.
Excellent work.
thanks sir for sharing this visit , its very knowledgeable
Great tour!
About the NOS. It's not the young age that bothers me, not at all. For many distilleries I prefer their younger expressions. It's the lack of transparency and honesty. If you have a (partly) three year old whisky, say so, I would buy it. Although I do buy the NAS anyway, so at the end of the day, it makes no difference for me.
I've just purchased a tamdhu 15 year single cask Edinburgh airport special edition £279 a bottle, do you think it'll be a good investment whisky ? thanks.
