My favorite tip is creating a bank account for each credit card and putting money into that account everytime I use the CC. When the bill comes I already have that money in the account to pay off completely.

That would definitely work! 👍

It's amazing to see both you guys together, but my question is who paid for the dinner and which card did you use LOL

Yes hoarding points in not always a good idea ..we try to use our points sooner then later
Seb is a huge huge inspiration. Both of you are to blame for the weird looks friends/family give me when I talk about the credit card point world. I suspect they'll come around on their own time. Welp!!!

Hahaha! Yes, I was telling a coworker of mine today about all the different credit cards in my wallet, and I wish I could have caught a picture of the look I was getting from my other coworkers (who think I'm crazy). It was priceless! 😄
LOVED this collab! My two fave point channels! And what Sebby said is the key to this credit/points game: use your credit card like a debt card. If you don't have the money in the bank, don't spend.

Love the collab. Was a burst of joy to see the FB edition where you included footage of you, your fiance, Sebby and Mandy. You welcoming them, Sebby entering, gift in hand, all four of you in an automobile, sharing a meal and looking out at the views. Beautifully put together and nothing but pleasant feelings to see how people can come together and share a moment. Just luv it. Keep it up.

Thanks Ruel! It was honestly an amazing experience to spend the day with them. Sebastian is a very nice guy and is a wealth of knowledge. Being able to chat with him in-person about credit cards and even KZread was a great experience for me. I hope this is the start of more collaborations with Ask Sebby, especially since we're both in California. 😎

I love collabs like these, especially your back and forth with Sebby. Suggestion: Have two-part/multi-part crossover episodes on a topic that start on one channel and end on another. Example: you can have Part 1 on your channel and Part 2 on Ask Sebby or another channel (e.g. Waller’s Wallet, Credit Shifu, etc.). The best analogy would be the two-part crossovers from the late 90’s NBC shows Law and Order (serving as Part 1) and Homicide: Life on the Street (Part 2 where the storyline concludes). Another great example: the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. This would promote everyone’s channels and increase viewership at the same time.

Brilliant! But I would limit it to two channels. I remember NBC took that too far in my opinion by attempting to force me to watch Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicagi MED. It gets brutal

Lol I started in the same path. I started with the Americard, then 10 years later I decided to get in to points and got Discover, Amex, and three chase cards and there’s so many chase cards I wish I had now. Now I have to wait two years without applying for anything lol.
@TripAstute

Yeah, it's definitely a common mistake that many of us have made. It's so easy to get wrapped up with other cards when first starting out and not think about the long term effects it has on getting future cards.

Try getting into business cards, such as Amex and Barclays, to tide you over until you are under 5/24 again (Not Capitol One, TD, and one other one)

The worst thing is to hoard points which I did, but some transfer partners may devalue the points. It happened to me with United.
@TripAstute
4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's really easy to fall into that trap. I've definitely been guilty of hoarding points, only to find out that they lost value. 😬
I feel the pain every time I see the total at the cash register. Don't need cash leaving my hands to feel that pain. I can imagine it leaving my bank account when they had me that receipt lol
@TripAstute

Ha! When I see it leaving my budget, it definitely hurts. I literally will force myself to enter it into my budget program so I can visualize how much I have left to spend. 😂

Thanks! It was so awesome meeting Sebby in-person. I've been a huge fan of his channel for years. 😊
I am in that zone, collecting points and hoarding them, not making it a point of duty to redeem them. As if psychologically, I just want to see the points in my account and living through the possibilities of what I can do. By not doing!
@TripAstute
4 жыл бұрын
It's tough not to hoard them! It can be addictive seeming your point totals increase every month. 😄
@Mousirelen
4 жыл бұрын
@@TripAstute Exactly, that's my reaction and thinking only the grandest of trips will make you part with a point. Just want the redemption to be special, meaningful and worthwhile as an aspirational achievement.
Such a treat to see seasoned point hobbyist. I have a suggestion, in terms of the video aesthetics.. Look at the composition in the video frame from the viewers point of view.There was a musical instrument, ukulele neck growing out of Sebastian's head the entire video. Visually distracting.
