I'm a pretty marginal AC/DC fan, but I'm a bigger fan of you guys!
Martin Popoff makes me proud to be a Canadian! ☺️ 🇨🇦
Great video, very entertaining.
Martins books are great, I watch him wherever he pops up because I know I am going to be both entertained and educated.
Amazing host and amazing guest. What else we can ask for. Albert Einstein Quote: “The best design is the simplest one that works.” AC/DC is all about it.
Martin is the best! His books have made buying gifts for my dad super easy over the years. Can't wait to watch back your other chats with Martin!
Martin Popoff is simply awesome. To hear him talk about music and how passionately he still feels about it all is truly incredible. What an absolutely great recollection he has.

I don’t always agree with Martin Popoff but he is ALWAYS worth listening to.
congrats on the new book Martin! You are so prolific. You are like the Stephen King of hard rock, and that's a huge compliment 'cause I love Stephen King.
Same for me Martin we listen to music that`s what we did. Great metal music thanks for that folks. Dirty Deeds cool album
Great show guys! I always enjoy your conversations with Martin! You guys have a great chemistry together and are always well prepared for the topic.
Martin brings such expertise to any conversation and project.
Great show...these guys are entertaining and know their stuff.
I think the title of Back in Black combined with the reality of the thing captured peoples imagination and sent it into the stratosphere.
Great show guys. I watch Martin Popoff everytime he shows up on a video. I will definitely pick up this book as I’m a hardcore AC/DC fan. Love your channel too.
The Stones and AC/DC are my favourite bands of all time - I’ve seen them both many many times and you are right John to say that they are on a par as a global touring attraction. As of 2023 I would say that only Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and U2 are bigger as a live draw. Very interesting to consider how the (relatively!) late career success of Tattoo You/Start me up gave the Stones a crucial extra lease of life in much the same way as the success of 1990's Razors Edge and Thunderstruck took AC/DC back into the stadiums after dwindling to a mere arena band by the end of the 80s - and not always selling out those arenas either. Can't wait to read the book, Martin!👍

TRE was definitely a resurgence for AC/DC (and I love that record) after kind of dwindling in the last half of the 80's. They had some real solid songs but the albums as a whole were hit and miss. I personally think the best songs on Fly on the Wall (Sink the Pink, Shake your foundations, FOTW) are some of the best Brians done, too bad they didn't live beyond that and the WMW tour) Metallica is another global act that is just as big today imo.
AC/DC with Bon Scott, 1979, Cleveland Municipal Stadium I was there!

@Lair of the Alchemist yeah, thats old Cleveland staduim!
It would be great to get some pro shot video of the Axl tour
Bon era AC/DC are great, don‘t care for the rest. 🤷♂️ Martin‘s books are great as well.
The only thing I would say is I agree with Martin’s comments about Back In Black in relation to most of AC/DC’s 1980’s catalogue, however The Razor’s Edge did sell very well.

And yes, nothing sold as well as Back In Black of course.
so will they ever do any concerts or are they done ?
12:24 What??😂 I like ya Martin, but I have to disagree big time on the "AC/DC songs are always a 7.5/10 compared to the heaviest Rainbow, UFO, Sabbath, Priest stuff. I'm more of a metal head too and I get that those other bands produce more "grandiose" type of material, but I would stack up Riff Raff, LTBR, Hells Bells, Night Prowler etc. against about anything those other bands have done. 70's Sabbath and Sabotage are probably my favorite band and album too but man, AC/DC at their best are right on their heels. They might not be metal and "heavy" in that sense, but when they are firing on all cylinders and at their best, their intensity eclipses 99 percent of bands in the metal genre. I know Lemmy always said they were Motorhead and they play rock n roll, I get the same vibe from AC/DC's music. There is a certain element (Malcom calls it "swing") to their sound that most rock and metal bands fail to capture. Anyway, I enjoyed the discussion so thnx.
It's funny that both AC/DC and Metallica's best selling albums are black but they're not their best albums.
