I think the movie is a metaphor for how lost the youth are like wandering spirits yearning to be possessed by a soul that gives them a high while the souls are wandering spirits looking for a vessel to feel what it's like being alive again.

I've just finished watching this sadness. I defined this film as being thoroughly hurt and isolated after loss . I don't know why, but somehow it was terribly sad to me. Being caught in a lonely place makes me feel that way. Mia was sort of indecisive sometimes, genuinely like all of us, but she needs to be saved from the hell of loneliness. She deserves it.

It really is, A24 is creating a renaissance for horror film. I've started to notice big film companies trying to mimic their style, of course nowhere near as effectively, but the impact is impressive. Real horror is in now, and I couldn't be more happy/horrified.
As someone who's been watching RackaRacka since childhood, this is putting a huge smile on my face to see how far they come. They were making funny videos with Ronald McDonald, now they're making a full on horror film. I am so flipping proud of these two and I cannot wait to see what this has in store.

I've been watching them for ~8 years, and I can't explain how happy I was to see the overly positive reception at Sundance for their film. They even had Ari Aster and Jordan Peele reach out to them and say how much they liked it!! Then they got acquired by A24 for distribution?? I'm so pumped and so proud of the folks at RackaRacka for pulling this off. They're living the dream.

@@jordanwalters9458 Yes, this kind of movie has been done to death for years but it's the way the creators are doing this that looks really promising. You can do movies like this but if one puts a whole new interesting creative spin to this genre that's well thought out and a decent budget to match it's gonna do well. I like a perfectly executed horror movie and it doesn't look cheap, not full of gore and horror, but decent nudity. A24 has a decent track record of releasing sleeper hits that explode out of nowhere.
Just finished watching it. 10/10. Very good. Great acting, character development, the right amount of gore, right amount of jumpscares, and even something that could be believable if you genuinely believe in supernatural and afterlife. Very well done!!!

Idk. X was smutty and this is a practically a seance type plot. Both very typical in horror movies lmfao. I haven't seen Pearl, so I won't say anything about that, but nothing has been super original or ground breaking. Also, why does it seem like movie studios have all collectively fired their audio departments? I cannot hear shit in theaters, when streaming, or in trailers anymore. I have my phone on full volume, over here with the speaker part close to my face, having my brain feel like it's completing a puzzle. Why do they seem to be whispering, just for the music to be so ear piercing? I know they've produced EEAAO, LadyBird, and some other good movies, so I do applaud them there, but their horror department is lacking imo.

I'm still going to see the movie but I hope that is just your theory about it being about addiction and not what the director said. I don't see how you can get addicted to that, like it's some kind of Christian thing to try to say stuff like that. If I have the power to talk to dead people I would only just be asking questions about the afterlife and that is all. Oh yea the main character wants to talk to someone she knows that died so I guess it makes sense for her to do that, and then after that she ask questions to the dead about the afterlife. I would be okay with this being a horror movie if the spirit is really a demon pretending to be her dead mother, and thinking she's real gave the demon more power. I'm okay with it if it goes to that direction, and not turn into some Christian propaganda type movie.

I loved this so much I am obsessed
I want to see this movie soo bad, especially after looking at the vlogs from the directors, they all seemed very happy to have their movie be recognized, they seemed to have to put so much effort and their family’s reactions were very emotional. I really want to go support them so they can keep making movies!!!
A24 sure is one of a kind. Talk To Me isn’t your generic horror film. It actually has real substance in terms of its plot and characters. We can see here how the psychological aspect to it takes center stage.

@@dizzlegrizzle1919exactly. Ever since A24 grew much bigger, they started to get young actors and actresses in for new roles. They are way too cringe and inexperienced for the big screen, let alone a film full of them.

Really enjoyed this, short and sweet and wasn’t overcomplicated
1) unique concept 2) no scary moments 3)good makeup Overall 1 time watch, 3/5 ⭐⭐⭐
Was lucky enough to see this flick in New Orleans last March as part of the Overlook Film Festival - it was the Secret Centerpiece screening. Believe the hype for this one, and don't miss the chance to see it in theaters this summer. Not just a great horror movie, but a great movie that happens to be horror.

I recommend this movie 100%. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it was just straight up a fun watch. Great pacing and great performances, very .. stylish I guess is a word I would use. It's a step above things like Insidious and The Conjuring in terms of its maturity, as those films I consider to be "horror for kids" this felt more broad in its intended audience but its not particularly scary or disturbing, conceptually or in terms of its gore. Just a solid, fun film. Very strong directorial debut.

Bro y’all crazy in the comment section saying how good this movie was 😭 I mean I know u are all horror fans obviously & that’s crazy to me ! I’m just trying to find a new good movie to watch and this trailer was a NO 😂 I’m such a scary cat ! Plus I don’t want no evil in my house , y’all know that open doors for evil spirits to enter right ? Especially demonic movies . I’ll watch killer/thriller but NEVER this😫 people will say they ain’t scared cause they know it’s fake . But y’all ! I’m scared because I know it’s REAL ! Like hellooo wake up people , there are literally spirits and demons at war everyday on earth over our bodies/souls. Don’t be fooled
