Talk Talk - It's my Life Bass Cover - 1979 Music Man Stingray
This is one of my favorite songs from the 80's that also happens to have a fantastic bass line. I removed the bass using the Moises software so what you are hearing is just me....sorry about that, lol.
I am using my 1979 Music Man Stingray into an Origin Effects Super Vintage (SVT) pedal from the DI out (so you get the 8x10 cabinet sim) plugged into my Motu M2 interface.

Makes you ralise how good Paul Webb was and is. He and Lee were a brilliant rhythm section.
That line is the reason I started listening to Talk Talk. Phenomenal!
This song takes me back to being a young teenager. I don’t think I realized back then how brilliant this track is.
Excellent John keep it up sounds great best regards
Great job, It 's funny that you have to grow older to really really appreciate this music. I'm 60 and just now appreciating the tone and bass on this song. Always a great song, but the different tones and instruments are superb. Fabulous 👍

I’m 57 & have really got into the songs of my youth with a new found appreciation of what the bass guitar brings to these songs. I liked this song as a teenager but love it as an adult. What a voice Mark Hollis had!
Strange thing is I really liked this song back in the day and never paid any attention to the bassline thank you for putting it front and center it gives me another reason to like it

Great! I was happy to see that you don’t need to stretch too long over the fret board. Only fairly small movements up and down. It’s sutch a good bass line. It flow and carry the hole song so good.

I used a program called Moises which lets you remove different parts of the track like bass, vocals, drums, etc. It's a great tool for isolating the bass to hear it better or removing parts to help you play along.
good job, good playing technique also! did you try it on a fretless? the original was played on a fretless.
@delucajohn2000

Wow, i had no idea it was on a fretless. I have been doing more fretless playing lately so I will have to play along to this one again. Thanks for the tip!
