It was a couple of Afghan students from a local tech school who designed and built it in their spare time with limited resources. They did a damn impressive job all things considered. The Taliban, who didn’t contribute a damn thing, simply held a press conference and took all the credit. And since the Taliban can’t tell the difference between a real LaFerrari and a rebodied Fiero kit car, they called it a supercar simply based on nothing else than its looks, turning it into a joke and tainting the poor students’ magnificent efforts. It would be fantastic if the western automotive media reaches out and puts the real builders in the spotlight. They really deserve it.
