Man I love this scene so much. That way that Yuri & Estelle look at each other always makes me smile 😁.

"..I'll be able to stay with everyone. With you." (long romantic stare) That heavily suggests they are in love. He is protective of Estelle, but who keeps bringing up the whole sibling deal? Do they actually have to come out and say it before you believe it?

I think they're so cute together. The love is subtle, which for this game plays out nicely.

@Temptest09 Their flirting was meant to be playful at best. Yuri acknowledges that Judith is hot and Judith liked to tease him. That's all. They never connected on a deep emotional level like Yuri and Estelle have. And Yuri asking Estelle to do what she wants is him respecting her wishes and wanting her to be independent. He was being supportive of her and trying to help her grow, not by encroaching her decisions with his own wants, but by letting her make her own choices.

I feel like this game was the least focused on romance out of all of them. I still ship Yuri and Estelle the most, but I can't deny that Yuri and Judith have good chemistry

I agree with you. Indirect or silent confessions are often the kind of confessions/romance I like, I mostly say a direct confession would've been better because then we wouldn't have the whole problem of "They're siblings!", "They're friends!", "No, blind people, they love each other!".

I have never shipped game characters as hard before and I defiantly think these should of been together

@Chrno34 Definitely. It's good that they didn't lay on the romance too thickly. People who like Yuri/Estelle would've felt the emotional intensity of the scene and people who don't like them together are able to make their own judgment that it was a good character development scene (and not necessarily hinting of romance).

I like Estelle x Yuri as a couple.

@ch0cochipCookie I know its a year comment. But thats what I loved about Vesperia. Their relationship, to me, its obvious they're in love, but its never forced its naturally there. Fits well.

And I don't see why you perceive it as brother and sister just because Yuri tries to help and support Estelle. Part of being in relationship is encouragement, support and helping one another grow; not meaningless flirtation that doesn't go anywhere.

no there are hints, shit tones, there more for estelle towards yuri but the game went out of its way to show that yuri cared more about estelle than anyone else. but like every tales of pairing(save lloyd and collete, stahn x ruhtee and asbela nd cheria) they are left at a maybe ever after

Yeah at the very least you can not deny that out of the party yuri cared more for Estelle then anyone else she was his priority

I like the music playing in the background so good

I honestly ship Yuri/Judith cause that just feels right. They both are vigilantes and usually fight alone and they kinda have the same personality.

They'd be occasional romance interest, but i don't think they'd settle for each other. Yuri needs someone more homey, maybe Flynn? lol

from the vesperia star "story" itself, its about siblings- brother*sister. and i think it fits them well. yuri flirts with judy more anyway.

Three Tales games have been released for the DS: Tales of Hearts, Tales of Innocence, and Tales of the Tempest.

I remember when they said this was a "sibling" relationship. If I stared at my brother like that, my parents would call DCF and Dick Wolf would make our case an episode of SVU. They have the BEST pair IMO, second only to LukexTear. It's like together, but not "Let me strangle and choke you with our diabetes LloydxColet MartaxEmil LUV" Although I like when Yuri and Judy flirt. She's like his hot bro. "I appreciate your hotness, and that you do your thing. Much Respect" And she's like "word"

There was no "they said," there was only Yuri's VA, who in 2015 said that in his opinion they were like brother and sister.

Some people doesnt understand that Estelle is pure and totally Naive and innocent, of course a confesion has to be the same way. Yuri understand this and tries to hold on the thing, even if he feels somethin, but at the end he end up seeing her as a "woman" more as just a "kid", because she matured in their journey. Look at the credits btw

Oh, thanks for this comment. I am almost disappointed in finding people who can think about the romantic line in the plot, and not see only yuri or yaoi.

In every Tales of game since Phantasia and onward the Hero is always with the Heroine even if they don't say it out loud it's obvious all the main hero and heroines are in love in every Tales of game. If you don't know Yuri and Estelle are canon they you haven't played enough Tales of games in your lifetime. xDD

If this is a friendzone, then all the characters of the game are in it. Rather, it was your typical open end, which seems to hint at "maybe ever after" but does not receive confirmation, so as not to kill interest or other ships.

I didn't know friendzone'ing is when you subtly confess your feelings for someone, and then they say that the feeling is mutual. Weird.

While it would be nice if Estelle and Yuri would've openly confessed like Marta and Emil, I kinda like the indirect approach in this case. It seems to suit them and it's (arguably) more romantic IMHO.

I like how Tales games differ from Final Fantasy or other JRPGs where there isn't necessarily any romance between the main male and female protagonist.

I was once told by someone wizened in the ways of the world that roughly 90% of what someone says is in their tone, not their words, and there were a lot of unsaid things in their tone during that particular conversation.

It isn't available in English and I'm unaware if there's a english translation online(you can try looking though). I had my japanese penpal who used to attend highschool with me translate his copy of the book for me into English via emailed scans.

I think that throughout the whole game, these two are still trying to decide if they like each other. It's like a pre-relationship, you're still trying to decide if you want to go farther with that person. Really, there's not enough to hint that they love each other, but there's plenty to suggest that they might be able to have a relationship. Personally, I don't really see any chemistry between Estelle and Yuri. They care about each other, that's for sure.

I don't understand it either. There are hundreds of game/anime couples that express love without ever saying the words. Inuyasha's never come out and said he loves Kagome, but everyone with at least half of a brain knows that he does for a fact. Same with Kenshin and Kaoru from RK. You don't necessarily need words in order to convey and understand romantic intent or context(especially in this scene where it's practically beating you over the head that they have feelings for one another).

check the videos from omegaevolution, he recorded all the skits and i remember watching it on his videos. be warned that there are a lot of videos and finding it may take a while, but its a funny skit.

kaychan4uu-Um, what do you mean "some?" The game broadcasts the pairing since the first time they met. The characters within game point it out, the interactions and moments themselves are hard evidence; the Abyss Complete Guide by Namco features and listed them as the official pairings of the game, along with AschxNatalia, VanxLegretta and CecillexFrings; and even the creators have stated that they're a couple. I don't know what game you were playing for you to say that.

Holy crap I'm totally responding to an ancient post, but feel compelled to do so anyway. I can give a reason why LloydxCollete is so diabetes shoved down your throat in TOS. One reason being that the game forces you to love her unless you deliberately be a complete jerk to Collete during choice skits in order for your other party members to gain relationship points with Lloyd (i.e flanoir scene, field skits, choosing peeps in scenes/special party). Also the 1st disc focuses on Collete's fate.

How do i get this conversation? Or is it on the story? I've start playing the ToV: DE

Only the kids seem to be concerned with signification of things like love or a pairing between the two. This scene was about disclosure and resolve more than anything.

Namco made their feelings for each other pretty obvious. There were scenes, skits and Luke's thoughts in his diary that told you. Luke and Tear had great chemistry. The problem I see with Yuri and Estelle, is that there's not enough chemistry. They don't partner up like Luke and Tear do when they are in the company of others and alone.

I would like A kiss in that scene! Estelle x Yuri!

Hell, that whole scene in Eldrant to made it obvious to anyone that he was going confess without even needing to look at the diary. A person would have to be as dense as Luke or Lloyd to say that Luke and Tear didn't have feelings for one another when over 90% of the scenes featuring them together was beating you over the head with it, especially after he changed. And damn right, we guys have feelings. Just because we're a little thick-headed doesn't mean we aren't romantics too.

@jsh020 you know what ive noticed? the more UST a couple has built, the more fanfiction there will be. that would explain why there are so many fanfiction of pokemon. if they said "i love you", that would go aways as to having them ignore this couple, and move on to other couples. (most of them nonsense)

i see it more like that estelle wants something more (there are a few skits in wich the other tease estelle about how she feels about yuri) but yuri doesnt. i think that is yuri the one who sees estelle as her younger sister. she doesnt see him that way in my opinion

Yeah, that is what nearly all the relationships are in this game. That's one reason why I like this game, no romance.

May I ask why you think so? I mean.... I thought about this for a cuple of time, but I still don't know, why you think so.....

@youseineko Nahh. It made it look like FlynnxEstelle... Plus, Senny still looks like he hasn't decided between Shirl and Chloe. So far Chlo's been in RM2, but they push the first pairing in RM, the second in 2.

I don't know about you but this is the first main Tales protagonists couple that I don't know what to think about their relationship. In my mind, they don't get higher than the "good friends" level ^^'
