    If only it was completely sealed I would have gotten an R over the XXX. BTW, for long term storage 50% is the ideal charge for a lithium battery. It keeps the potentials equal and reduces dendrite growth. Supposedly charge no more then 80% like most Tesla owners, but kind of hard to do. I do not charge after a ride and charge it before for an hour or so like you too.

    Nice video! Only thing I noticed being used to moto. When tightening the headset, you loosen the two pinch bolts on the stem. But it is also very important to loosen the 3 other pinch bolts. The one on the steer tube as well as the two pinch bolts on the upper triple clamps then tighten the upward facing bolt before tightening all 5 pinch bolts

    Did you change the oil recently and possibly over fill the gearbox?

  • @remy2103
    @remy21039 ай бұрын

    The manual/ KZread videos state to put 70-90ml of oil into the bike when doing an oil change, The problem I’m having is that the only way I can get anything above 50ml of oil into the gear box is to lift the front tire of the bike up about 4inches so that the front end of the bike is raised off the ground, I think this is due to the gear box not being mounted completely flat on the bike as it ships from the factory, it seems as if the gear box is mounted at an angle with the full cap sitting lower than the highest point of the gear box. The issue is that when I fill up to the 70-90ml which is the recommended amount and then try to check the oil fill level by removing the fill cap, a good 30ml of oil falls out of the oil fill cap, which makes me think that I am overfilling the oil amount. Should I be rising the front end of the bike to fill the oil or should I keep it on the stand and only fill to about 50ml I do not want to under or over fill the oil but the recommended amount in the manual seems like it’s too much because all that oil is just falling out when I open the oil fill cap Also there are two small lines on the dip stick which I assume are low and high oil levels, which indicate that the proper amount to be in there should be right around 50ml, because anything more requires the bike to be lifted and makes it impossible to open the fill cap/ dip stick without spilling oil. I do not know if this is a design flaw or a mistake in the manual

  • @freerfixedit

    @freerfixedit

    9 ай бұрын

    I hear of people having this issue, but when I did my first change I got 80ml in no problem. No lifting or tilting. My advice would be to make sure you’re getting all old oil out. Change it right after a ride so the oil is hot and more viscous. It will drain better that way. And spin the wheel with your hand so the gear box turns and pushes out the rest of the oil. I also used the squeeze bottle it came with and saved it for future changes. I think the nozzle makes it easier to get the oil in where it’s supposed to go, and maybe turn the rear wheel again while filling. As long as you have oil in it and it shows good on the fill line, I wouldn’t stress too much. I spoke to Eric from Luna and they said these gearboxes are pretty bullet proof, and they’ve even done tests with them with zero oil inside and they ran fine. Hope this helps! 🤙🏽

    @@freerfixedit I am taking about the wheel axel. Two pinch bolts on each side for a total of four. One of the four I can tighten and continue tightening forever.. it just spins.. I took it out and put it into a different hole and it tightens and stops when it gets really tight. I took another bolt and put it in the bad hole and it can tighten forever spinning.. so something is stripped with the hole itself and not the bolt.

  • @freerfixedit

    @freerfixedit

    10 ай бұрын

    @@jcasaubon dang, if you’re lucky you might be able to go to the hardware store and get a bolt that’s slightly larger in diameter, and get a tap to run new threads. Worth a shot. Also, if 1/2 get tight, make sure your axle bolt is good and tight, and you could probably limp it around and be fine. I wouldn’t go hitting huge jumps or anything with only 1 pinch bolt, but it could be a temporary duct tape fix in the mean time.

    I have two ebikes that use Rohloff hubs, (which use real gears) they have been known to run for thousands of miles with NO oil in them. IF they initially HAD oil in them that is, it seems even after an opened drain plug, enough clings to the moving parts to still provide adequate lubrication. Same here, and why they are going to lesser amounts of gear lube, just not needed and maybe it cuts down some mechanical friction of slinging the excess around.
