Learning about the factory 30% voltage cutoff is such good information. Everyone on forums always says to stay above 30% on the display, but now knowing that "30%" is already accounted for and running to 0% is actually the batteries 30% is extremely comforting. You guys knocked it out of the park with this one like always
Great video as always guys. Very detailed and informative.
Great video! Useful information, Easy to understand.
Before I begin watching the video, I would kindly like to thank you guys for reading my mind and posting this video today. I’ve been itching to find results on the 60v|72v batteries for the sting r because I almost thought that you couldn’t upgrade them. I been watching since you guys had about 2k subscribers and your channel is growing fast by the week ! Keep up the good content 🙌

I think it's cool for y'all younger generation to be into something really cool that kinda requires you to understand basic electricity terms and math skills while maintaining long-term focus on a project.
I really hope they start making these batteries for the Talaria X3
Excellent video! As a new Ebike owner, this is info I really needed! Can you do a video in correlation with this one to explain what controller I would need when I go up to a bigger 60v or 72v battery on my Sting R? And how you pair or program it to mate with the battery. Also, maybe one on motor size and compasion too. I will ultimatley be wanting the best battery, controller, and motor match up for my Work commute. I have 2 orders coming already from Charged cycles. Its cool to see you pair up! Awesome work guys! As always! Keep up the good work!!

We'll let @talariaboys follow up with the video, but all modern controllers like KO and EBMX have mobile apps with a guided experience for the setup. As an example, in the intro screen when you first power up the controller after installation, it ask you what battery you are using. You can keep tuning and make further adjustments, but the basic setup is handled for you. For commuting, if you are running higher speeds for longer periods of time, 72v is preferable. The EBMX app allows you to adjust the field weakening, which gives higher top speed by reducing the magnetic strength at higher RPM's. This is one of many features that can easily be adjusted to fine tune the controller for each rider and riding style. Although you could upgrade the motor for monster power, your Sting R already has a strong IPM motor that can handle more power and higher top speed.

@@ChargedCycleWorks Hi, and what battery need if i ride mostly hard enduro style? (like with my KTM 300 EXC) On rocks, in creecks, long steep uphills , where i need tons of torque, and i don't want to ride 70+mph in woods, but i need minium 30-40miles of range?
Thought about doing this to a Talaria MX4 but I decided why not just get the Eride Pro SS. It comes with a 72v battery and 12kw motor. Plus its lighter weight and has stiffer front suspension. I am going to pick mine up this week locally and I cannot wait! I do like the gearbox design that the Talaria comes with though but I know I would end up upgrading things to make it faster and it would cost a bunch of money lol

I am sitting on this exact same fence right now. 🤣 I got someone that wants to buy my Talaria, so I might do it.
So on the stock Sting R battery you're getting around 30 miles of range on trails and rocks/mixed use? I imagine swapping between eco and sport modes? I'm figuring out which bike I'm buying still, but battery options are a part of that. I ride single track in the mountains in oregon and wanna go to an electric. It's some dirt roads but mostly trails that vary from rocks to mud ruts up and down hills. I'll often ride 4-6 hours in a day going 35 miles or so. 50 on an extremely long day. Figuring if it's better to just get the big battery. Is the lid uncomfortable on that size? Pretty much debating between the Sting R and a Beta Explorer/Apollo RFN which comes stock with dirt bike wheels and a 74v battery, but I don't think anyone has larger/aftermarket batteries for those yet.
I kinda wanna grab a 60 volt and grab a controller later on. The extra range is what makes me want an upgraded battery the most and the fact you can’t drop a 72v on a stock controller sucks. I’d love to just grab a 72 and a controller at once but that’s a big stack of cash plus if you wanted to upgrade the motor in case of overheating. Sheesh
Range anxiety is subjective if I wanted to go 150 miles on my bike. I certainly would have rain anxiety, no matter what size battery I put in there.
Please tell me how to convert tons of range into either kilometers or miles. Really everything I wanna know I got 12 questions with that statement.
"Why were you in the shower for 25 minutes?" Talaria Boys just posted leave me alone.
cant wait for the x3 battery upgrades, im gonna snatch one of those up as soon as they're released
I bought my 72v 4:52 ewatt from pueget sound three months ago for only $2000. Its basically the exact same battery. It really made my nano rip at 15kw

I would just buy an Ultra Bee for 2k more then a Sting R, and not have to mess with batteries or controllers for 72v/12kW, but good information. The heavier battery and controller make the weight pretty close. For $14kish the Stark VARG is insane with over 60kW/80HP. E-bikes/motorcycles are getting crazy.

Yeah I'm just gonna buy the ultra bee because I know for a fact I'll quickly get used to the sting R power and want a little more. Plus the ultra bee already comes with a massive 72v battery.

How comfortable is the Motoseat you use compared to the stock Sting R seat? Is it worth getting? The stock seat is so uncomfortable after a half hour of riding!
@Talariaboys

Its just a seat cover so just adds grip and good looks. You just need to ride more and break your seat in. or get some padded bike shorts, that helps a lot too.
Should do a video of batterys here in Canada I’m trying to get battery but I’m stuck

You can use any battery what you want, if you have a programmamble controller like EBMX or KO. You need just re-setting what type of battery you use. With stock controller, you can use only 60v batteries.

I like the looks of 72v 42ah. Ended up getting a surron instead of the Talaria. I love what chi has to offer but their compact 72v is only 38ah as opposed to the ebmx/charged cycle works 42ah. Feel like that 4ah would make some range difference. Thoughts?

I'm glad there is more carriers selling the eWatt battery now. I'd rather not support EBMX, tbh. They seem like cool dudes, but they started this childish manufacturer war that has become really petty. Just fyi though, these batteries are cheaper to buy directly from eWatt (the manufacturer), just in case people are looking for the currently cheapest possible option.

You guys should check out amorge batteries, they are a Chinese compony and there batteries are allot cheaper. your looking at 1k for a 72v 44ah battery. they seem to be really good quality and I've never seen anybody have problems with them. I've had mine for about 6 months now and its been great. I've been pulling 28kw from it daily and it handles it great. would definitely be cool to see you guys do a video on it as a budget option and really test it out. the only downside is it doesn't have the stainless steel case and doesn't have any warranty. But amorge is definitely a good compony and they have good customer service so I would definitely recommend them. love the videos btw
