Say a million things about Gary, that man is a damn good songwriter with such a pure voice!! A true artist and musician. The way he approaches songs and delivers them is simple yet so distinct. He was always our generation's Elton John. His voice is Rule the World and back for good? Whew!!! 💯 I would study him and sing them all the time.

Amazing and heartfelt lyrics.

Just found out today via the comment section that Gary wrote this when he was a 15 year old lad. Im not a massive fan of Gary Barlow or Take That but that to me mind blowing and demands respect

Me in the army back in 90's doing my round as a deliveryman and stopping by the canteen. There was this beautiful blonde girl that I had crush on working alone, listening a cd. I asked her if I could see the cd cover and saw this song on it. So I asked her to put it on and there we sat and listened the song in silence. Never saw her after the army, but this will be always our song.

When songs actually have meaning.

I always thought this was one of their string of #1's but i'm surprised to find out it only reached #7. I was growing up in the 1990's and i just remember Take That being on the radio all the time and releasing a string of hits. They were just really big for a while back then, a bit like the Beatles in the 60's but not as big as the Beatles were.

Was on vacation in the UK last week, I was driving on M40 and Smooth FM played this song, it brought very good memories.

Except Gary Barlow is from Frodsham not Manchester. He is also a Liverpool fan as well (Frodsham is closer to Liverpool than it is to Manchester). Also Robbie Williams as we all know is originally from Stoke on Trent!

My favourite band even to this date loved them since I was around 12 and still love them now at 35 😂

This is a terrific song. I reckon it would be a good song to have in either a Leavers Service or a wedding. Take that were a big part of when I was growing up-Patience, Shine, greatest day and Rule the world in particular.

This is the first time I've heard this song. This is surprising, but for some reason I also wanted to cry, although I am from Russia and do not understand the text very well) But this song has something touching and pure, very beautiful music and vocals. And the amazing sound of the saxophone, I love the sax. In my opinion, the sax is the most beautiful and romantic instrument of all existing ones😃

It’s 2019 and Take That have been part of my life since 1995 when they played at my school. I got to meet and kiss them all back then. In 2012 Greatest Day was the theme tune of my wedding and on Friday my husband and I are off to the O2 to see them for our 7th wedding anniversary. A lifetime of memories wrapped up in one band.
