The 505 looks way cooler on those high skids! I love it!

Bell's really outdone itself with the 505. I was a little on edge about the teetering semi-rigid rotor on this, but the Garmin 600H took care of that.

A well done sales pitch. It's amusing that salespeople can talk all day about computers, real estate, magnetic mattress pads, health insurance, helicopters, hedge funds, cars, water purifiers and more. Brief them in and give them the script, and off they go.

I have flown bell 47's all flavours even the J model,Bell 206a,206b2,b3 206L,212,412 EP,412 HP and other non Bell helicopters. From what I can actually see from this video with not many cowls removed,a 206 blade set,206 tail boom,206 mast and head,206 tail rotor system and 206 upper and lower fin.Yes bell have copied the Astar cabin design but at the expense of no baggage compartment from what I can see.The problem with commercial operations is Sod's law states that when you need to take baggage down route (happens a lot,)there is no way you can bump passengers or leave seats a hundred miles away.Yes the engine change from the faithfull but maintenance expensive Alison C20 is a good thing but only a 39 SHP increase?? The example of a cheaper quote than an Astar for a slinging job is too subjective as the Astar operator could have over quoted. All the rest about the "public safety" equipped version is totally irrelevant as what you fit in any airframe fits in most airframes and whatever you fit has a price tag over and above a standard airframe fit.It would be interesting to see how Bell increased the VNE on a existing antique rotor system? Getting back to the external load capabilities you can't compare with a AS350 B3.The stretcher fit has not changed much,I have used the old 206 in this mission fitted with the hinge out pillar and it was actually easier than the 505 in this video.Convince me that a very decent low time overhauled 206b3 at $0.5k is worth passing by for a $1.3 mil LUH?

Wow......So much anger......I thought 505 is a leap ahead.......but Astar kill........I think Autorotation capabilities of bell are enough for paying 1.3 mil

Agreed...And the tiny baggage door is step down from an old JetBox. It still has nowhere near the utility of AS350... from any point of view..

@@naughtyUphillboy there is no anger just facts and opinions, anger is a waste of energy. Bell does not have a premium on auto capabilities, and to a large degree that’s down to the driver, which Bell do you fly ?

120 instructing in BH-505 and I am comfortable opining that it is a PoS. Bell built it to a dollar threshold, NOT a performance target. And they built a PoS helicoopter. And you should really consider getting your money back from whatever school you attended. Your knowledge of basic punctuation undermines whatever points you attempt to articulate.

You place two larger looking blokes in the helicopter claiming how much room there is, yet you don't state their height or the dimensions of the cab. You just claim it can fit lots of feet. Two bladed rotor should be banned.
