I love how Gomi just literally telegraphs the overhand by nodding at his opponent like, "Yeah, I'm about to throw it again, 7th time in a row. You ready? Here it comes." Zero fucks.

Strange looking finish. Never said “fixed” before in my life but this does look pretty weird. Can’t even see the initial punch land and then the ones that put him out were barely grazing. I love Gomi so I hope that’s not the case.

Hmm.. The last guy who replied must be a bit blind himself. Slow mo is even more damning, if anything - and the way Gomi immediately ran off like he knew he was going to get the finish when Melvin went down 🤔

Late reply but one thing I’d add, very few people faking being knocked out will drop forward with their head tucked under their chest like that. Huge risk for a neck injury, can’t see anyone doing that on purpose even if they wanted to.

Melvin 100% took a dive on this one. Dude usually has a lot of pop & bounces around very well on his feet. He was staying stationary for long periods of time, almost waiting for Gomi to throw so he can plan his KO spot. Sadly things haven’t gotten better for Melvin after this fight.

I mean there's no logic to your statement especially with what you mention at the end. Much more likely he got viciously KOd by Salikhov (UFC contract worthy KO) and then took a horrendous beating from Adesanya and didnt have a chin anymore. Like 95% more likely. Once your chin is gone its gone theres no getting it back and those L's happened very late in his career and not even 2 months apart. It's not like Gomi doesnt have first round KO power. Suggesting he dove is one thing he's a skuzzard so its possible but saying its 100% is crazy talk. The damage he took leading up to this fight in a short period of time is career ruining.
