I live less than 2 miles from where he started on Lake Fork. He lived in a $1,500 junk RV in an RV park behind Axton's Bass City next to Lake Fork and fished 7 days a week since he really had no home to go home to every day. No other pro can ever relate to what he given up in order to fish. True winner.

When my wife calls my phone and says get home the kids are acting up. I treat that last 10 minutes of fishing like I'm Takahiro Omori and when I hook a fish I just yell I Knew it! I Knew it! Then I drive home yelling like I just won Bass Masters.

Takahiro Omori is the epitome of "pursue what you want to do in your life." Dude left Japan to come to the USA. Washed dishes when he started in the league. Slept in his car countless times. All for his dream! This video is golden. I am a Multi-Species angler, but I can't hold myself to say that I love all the professional Bass anglers in the league. The amount of work and dedication that they put up with to get there is unreal. FISH ON, TAKAHIRO! Was very nice meeting him in the Elite Series at the Chesapeake Bay (August, 2015).

My favorite fisherman because he’s had to deal with the normal difficulties to make it PLUS leaving his home with nothing, learning a new language, new culture, everything. He turned his own world upside down for a dream and it paid off! He’s still in 2019 a top notch professional and has added impressive wins to his legacy as a bassmasters classic champion! Back in 1985, Roland Martin went to Japan and declared there was absolutely zero chance for Japanese anglers to win any of BASS tournaments in the States. It took 20 years for them to claim this. Time changes. People learn. Bass doesn't choose nationality or race. Good angler wins. We all enjoys bass fishing and that's what all matters.

This is way better than a buzzer beater or Hail Mary. Literally the likelihood of your last 5 min and last 3 cast landing you bass master classic is improbable. Watch this every year

Never give anything to the winner, Ernest Hemingway said. It means that no one can give you anything more than the highest honor of victory. Although he benefited financially from the win, he doesn't know if it's worth the sacrifices and hard work he's put in since he was a teenager. However, what he shows us is to continue working diligently to achieve our dreams. I believe this video has value beyond fishing and sporting events. Go Taku!

electronics don't do shit with shallow water bass. You need some depth for panoptix to really give the edge.

He came a long way to live his dream. I have no interest in tournament style fishing but this classic gives every fisherman goose bumps.

I lived less than 5 minutes away from him when he lived in an old RV on Fork. That was long before I got into fishing so I never knew who he was. You can still go into the marinas around Fork and see polaroid pictures of him hanging on the walls.
