Because Marae have the proper facilities to house people whereas most churches don't.

Maybe it's time these churches use the money they get and make it possible for that to happen, they are so big and could accommodate a lot of people...I'm sure God would prefer that rather than being used only on Sunday's...isn't that the Christian thing to do?Amen

@Samuelu Sio OK. But at the end of the day, take culture out of the equation, helping is helping yea? Having a caring heart is important yes? But I guess church is more for attendance and judging

Isn't it amazing how HNZ react to being threatened, but when it comes to HNZ tenants threatening other HNZ tenants, housing new zealand tell you to get over it.

Move to oz (except Sydney, Canberra or Darwin, but even these cities are still cheaper than Auckland) Here in Brisbane you can get a newish 4 bedroom house for under $400 a week. In Otara a 3 bedrooms start at $500 a week. You can get a decent 4 bedroom for $500 a week in the Western suburbs of Sydney, much better condition than the Otara houses. In Gladstone QLD you can get a brand new 4 bedroom house for around $250 a week

Housing Corp workers need to be accountable for their actions. Wear a name badge. Stop blaming your policy & procedure policy. Housing Corp have made their tenants pay rent for twenty years. If you pay rent of $200.00 per week for the year, it comes to $11,000 per year. Times $11.000 by 20 years. That comes to $220,000.00. What rights does this Humble family have. They have contributed A Quarter of a MILLION DOLLARS to Housing Corp New Zealand Government in order to house their families. Th All you individuals worker for HCNZ need to be accountable for there decisions as individuals. Wear your name tag so we all know who you are. Help the people don't hurt the people I thought HC stood for Housing Corporation N.Z ... Not HOUSING CONVICTION N.Z. To All the families in this prodicament, Have the strength to stand for Your Rights to be able to have a descent roof over your families head. ... And Koro I feel your pain, I cry with you... and I pray with you to. Arohamai & Arohanui. TE WAIMARIA. xoxo

The true reality of many Maori and Pacific Island families under the Nazi National party. Heartless bastards. This is a family whose lived in this house for 20 years. Housing New Zealand need to be more sensitive. $180 for a pot of paint?? Are Housing New Zealand seriously? What's in the paint can - Gold??? You should be ashamed !!!
