Heuer has been my favourite brand since 1968 and it took me 50 years to get my Autavia; a gift from my lovely wife on my 60th birthday. I am overjoyed to see that Tag is again becoming more desirable. Next up on my wishlist… a Carrera!
Best functional watch I have ever owned, most break, scratch or are not really everyday watches. It is a beauty, fits perfect, looks amazing, durable, and the unfinished titanium is tough for us wrist bashers.
Idk if it’s just me but titanium has the best look for tool watches. Ideal material for heavier work environments too.
Photos / videos don’t do this watches justice. In flesh amazing.
I love this watch... ill start saving now
I really like this watch. I’d love to try it on here locally but so far no one has it in stock. Great review.
beautiful watch
Looks ace!
Got mine 3 days ago and it hasn't left my wrist since. I've seen a lot of people criticize it for using, what they assumed, to be a basic solar movement by Citizen (since Citizen owns La Joux-Perret), but I can say the finishing and overall built quality is fantastic. Is it a bit expensive but for what you get, I think it's worth it.
I would love more of these swiss solar divers under 1500 Dollar range.
Love the titanium
Cool watch. I tend to love the quartz tag models others seem to hate. My issue is the price here. I think a quartz formula/aquaracer at grey market prices isn’t a bad deal. The premium they are getting for this being solar I find to be too much in this case. The movement isn’t high accuracy, perpetual calendar, radio controlled, etc. it’s a basic solar quartz. Yes it has all the great features you described (charging from indirect light, and short charge time). But it’s no different from a much much cheaper citizen eco drive which has already proven they make a quality product.
I fell in love 💕
For $1000 sure why not. Not for 3k though
My Titanium Aquaracer is one of my favorites. This piece looks awesome.

Does it hit the markers
Didn't pick up on the second hand or easy link until this video. Makes a difference in the value proposition to me. For the tech, the RRP of the steel version ain't so bad. The PVD version would be my choice.
it's a beautiful watch.. but I can think of a lot of other watches I would buy for $4k..
I love mine. Yeah, it's expensive. But, whatever. It was worth it for me to get. The overall look and design is really good. Love the matte titanium with the dark grey dial and touches of what I think they call frost blue. It's comfortable, lightweight of course, and pretty well built. Super accurate.. +0.2 s/d. And, the bezel action for a titanium watch is really quite good. The quick microadjust on the clasp is great. Kind of like Rolex easy link, I think. Just enough to relieve any tightness if my wrist swells. And, the lume actually pretty good, very reactive and lasts long enough throughout the night.

I love this watch ⌚️ it's lightweight titanium and saphire crystal with solid end links make this watch perfect. It is the watch I have been searching for. If you want it just buy it .I have no regrets.
Wow. Love that a Swiss brand is actually doing this. But that movement better be something special for a quartz. It’s 9F territory.
I just picked up one of these. Mind doesn’t hit the marks on the second hands. Not sure if this is normal? Was kind of bummed about it
I wonder why a diver watch without the lum at the triangular mark?
I don't get all the hub bub about what Citizen Ec0-Drive has done for years.
That movement isn’t a collaboration with LaJoux Perret, it’s a Citizen eco-quartz movement partially assembled by Citizen-subsidiary LaJoux Perret in Switzerland so TAG can keep “Swiss Made” on the dial. It’s been inside $300 dive watches for years ($500 if you want it in titanium) and I find it pretty gross that TAG would have the audacity to lie about its origins and charge $3000 for it.

@@casanova9227 TAG states that this movement was "developed in collaboration" with LaJoux Perret, which is fully owned by Citizen. The specifications of this movement line up 100% with the Citizen Eco-Drive movement used in their own $200 dive watches. Neither TAG nor LaJoux have ever produced a quartz movement of their own, so the easiest way to get a solar-quartz movement they could call "Swiss Made" is for Citizen to ship parts to be assembled by LaJoux and delivered to TAG. It's a solid movement, but not even Citizen's best. In their higher-end watches (which are still much less expensive than this TAG), the solar quartz movements have perpetual calendars and are accurate to 5-seconds/year.
This, the carbon PVD version or the Seiko SLA067J1?
Just ordered a Titanium Solar from Momentum called the Smokejumper. $225. 👍
I have a tag heuer formula one quartz very well made this watch looks great and solar even better,will last a lifetime. I will have to start saving.
I love me some titanium.
I like the Tag Heuer collaboration thing.... But 3K for a quartz? This watch has a big weakness: Citizen. I currently own a Citizen that would directly compete with that Tag. I paid nothing close to that asking price. It's a nice looking watch to be sure. Bezel sounded nice for Ti.

There's perfectly good automatic movement watches available for peanuts these days. Anything you're going to get in a £3k watch is mass produced anyway, so really the distinction between automatic and quartz nowadays is negligible in terms of manufacturing prowess or cost of production. Practically speaking, a solar quartz watch is going to be great for a lot of people. Plus of course you have Citizen (as you mentioned) and Grand Seiko producing stunning quartz movements that are truly very well done, technically excellent and well finished. So I wouldn't sleep on quartz at this price point.
@bettersteps

@@MPD90 What are you getting from a $3k quartz Tag that you're not getting from a sub $1k Citizen? Many would argue Citizen makes a superior quartz movement with superior solar technology, also available in Ti. You may not sleep on a quarts watch at this price point but most people will.

Is this worth 6 times the price of a seiko prospex solar diver? Not In my world.
I tried one of these recently and was really impressed. What got me was how light it is and then asked myself why do we associate heavy watches with quality, especially sports watches?? I wear a root beer and love its weight. Surely a sports watch should be a watch you don't even know is on your wrist. This watch is feather weight and would be more suitable to wear while participating in a sporting activity, surely?
nice
Is this Ti version heavier than the STD versin (all black)? I prefer MORE weight. LIght watches can feel cheap.

No it's alot lighter. I tried the Ti on at a boutique and I've just purchased the All Black model.
... Just read all the 86 comments or so. And the consensus is basically the price? I tried the Ti model in only last week and tbh I just didn't like it the colour and the weight was just a No no for me. However only a couple of days ago I am now a proud owner of the All Black edition with Carbon bezel. Back to the price issue... First of all I got £500.00 off the r.r.p! And I also got 18 months interest free credit too! So all in all I'm more than happy with my brand new Tag. My very first luxury watch was a Tag Heuer Formula 1 back in 1993 and now over 30 years later I've just gone back round in a circle lol. ;What I don't understand though is my All Black Carbon Solargraph is list now On the Official TH website as NEW?! And yet all the reviews for my watch date back to at least 18 months ago when ppl had them on there wrists?! Keep up the good work RR!! 👏👍😉
I do really like it but the price pushes it out of my reach. It seems to me comparatively expensive for what it is. But I do really like it. I have a steel Casio from the 90s with a similar aesthetic.

Same. If this were under $1600 id have a hard time not pulling the trigger. $3000 for quartz is just crazy.
It looks better than a Royal Oak. But the price is steep, it should have a lume pip and be grade 5 titanium. But the design and wear look fantastic. I have seen it at Macy's. Way beyond my budget, but it is such a perfect elegant, toolish watch. There is a CItizen Promaster titanium, maybe BN0200 that has a similar design, but it is 2 or 3 mm too large, the dial looks too plain, and being large the dial has too much negative space in the middle. If Citizen shrank the BN0200 a little, and would put some good color on the second hand, it could be a good alternative to this Aquaracer.
My brother just got his first ever 'real' watch and i was disappointed to see that he'd wasted his money on an overpriced quartz tag F1 chrono. Then he let me try it on and you know what? Its a great watch. Yeah its over priced for the movement but a quartz suits him when he only wears it at weekends and the build quality was genuinely impressive. He did overpay for the brand but then so does everyone who buys a luxury good.
@RandomRobReviews

Most Tag buyers are end users, so “over paying” doesn’t really apply in the grand scheme. Just my thoughts.
Sinn U50 is so much better, different and not solar, but still pretty small and comfortable in comparison. One of my first decent watches was a Tag quartz diver that I bought at a duty-free shop, but it’s been one of the worst for the wear of any watch I’ve owned.
@rossdev

That’s a pity. My first luxury watch was a Tag F1 (40mm, 200m water resist) which is 13 years old now. It’s still as good as the day I bought it, no complaints at all!
I must say I'd written this one off on principle, but actually it's a very attractive watch with a good feature set. The biggest design mystery here though, and what ultimately kills this one for me, is the choice to put the Aquaracer text above the brand logo. Nudge the TH logo up and lose the Aquaracer text (or better yet replace the 'Solargraph' text with the 'Aquaracer' text) and you'd have a great dial here. But as it is, just looks a bit odd once you notice it, for me anyway.
So, so, SO overpriced and yet I still think this looks incredible and could be the perfect vacation watch, especially for a diver. I don’t like diving with steel because unless it’s 904L you should really rinse after ocean but you don’t have to worry about titanium. I also hate how steel feels on the wrist on a hot summer day.
No way... buy a SNE555P1, you will thank me later. Hey Rob open the case, I want to see the plastic movement holder.
Screw the snobs. This watch is beautiful. Great specs.
Why quartz?? So annoying :( Looks amazing!
Very nice and well thought out piece. At 40mm I might buy it for my wife. Wish they made it in men's size
3k for a quartz watch?... tag got to be kidding.
The Citizen Chronomaster in titanium is much better than this and about $700 cheaper. It comes with a high accuracy movement regulated to +/- 5 sec/year, amazing case and dial finishing, perpetual calendar and power reserve indicator.

I really want to like this watch but it looks like a women's watch to me. Have the same issue with the Sinn T50.
Looks like a swiss army inox.
for 1k I'd pick it up...3k, no chance
Why would I pay all tht money when Citizen created the movement for way cheaper???
I do like tag. And try to defend the hate. But this does seem a rip off. Surely this is just the same technology as an eco drive from citizen.
The lume only works for 30 minutes, not worth the money
Obscene price for a freaking quartz! I see there are others as well - Tag Heuer is a joke.
I have a real aquaracer with an automatic movement in it. Id never waste a dollar on the quartz versions. No friggin way. My go to watches for quartz and solar are citizen, seiko and casio. Tag cant compete with those and shouldnt even be trying to.
@solarcycles1963

The stainless versions look more appealing, still pricey for a Solar Quartz watch but the finishing is far superior to that of say a Citizen.
Wow, $3k for a quartz watch. Solar may not be their expertise even. When I hear solar, I think about citizen or even casio, but never tag.
TH just cant help themselves when it comes to over-pricing their watches. Yes, its nice. Is it $3000 nice? NO, not to me anyway
Who is this watch targeting? Watch snobs obviously. Don’t want to wear a Citizen for $500, that would be too pedestrian for them. This brand is targeting the pretentious.
LOL that price. You can get an excellent cheap alternative like the Seiko SBDJ011. This piece is a true waste of money.
At $3k for a solar watch is a joke. That is why Tag has been a butt of jokes for quite some time now.

I don’t think stainless steel watches are THAT heavy that I need to sacrifice the art of finishing that can be accomplished with stainless steel. This finishing of the titanium looks so rudimentary.
This watch has many nice features but is so overpriced that it’s just not worth it.
Tags are so datedimo. Anyone who wears one never seem to get watches. Most thier movements are fricken quartz.
Its basically a CITIZEN movement, which is build in an 200 Euro watches. i think this Tag is extremelly overpriced,
For those moaning about the price they’ve released Stainless Steel versions of the above, if you’re still moaning get a Citizen.😉
