Unboxing TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph Titanium
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Another self-explanatory video. But, just in case it wasn't clear enough, Imin this video I sent box the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph Titanium in 40mm.
TAG Heuer was my first entry into a luxury watch brand roughly 28 years ago. I bought my first TAG Heuer in late 1995. It was a quartz diver with a white dial and black rotating bezel. Reference WD1213.BA0610 from their 1500 Series back then.It was my main watch for about 12 years. Sadly and mysteriously, I lost it while at a new home I had just moved into.
Anyways... fast forward to beginning of 2023, I felt a need to get a TAG Heuer back. I had considered finding a used example of the watch I had for the past few years. But, what I found seemed pretty beat up and didn't feel like paying the price for one.
I had more recently considered looking at the Aquaracer line. When this version turned up, it felt like the one to get. I really like the hard angles and matte finish of the titanium. Coupled with the radiant horizontal textured dial with light teal accent color to give a subtle pop to an otherwise spartan utilitarian look, the overall watch design looks so good.

Really appreciate the video I've been looking at this watch for some time!

No problem! How it was helpful. Thanks for watching
Beautiful watch and video...and box...
I think I want the rubber one, but at the same time I'm thinking I could just spend more and get the green Seamaster Pro. Super different watches, but it'll basically come down to whether I can get a deal on one or the other first. I have an Aquaracer Calibre S that I've had for like 15 years or so. It was a very good buy, so I'm interested in the practicality of the Solargraph.
Man you got some great watches. I also don’t like polished mid links! It’s just too blingy for me. 💯
Jealous! I’d love to add this watch to the collection
waiting for the stainless steel solargraph, and if it's too much to ask... NO date.
Thanks for the review. Does the seconds hand hit the signs every time? What do you think of the watch after one year now?

The second hand hits the marks precisely about 95% of them. It's a great watch. I no longer have it, though. Reluctantly sold it to get something else. I'd consider buying it again maybe later down the line. No doubt it's expensive for what it is. I wouldn't pay full retail if I do go back to it.

@@khronokraze Thanks a lot for replying. I am considering the cheaper stainless aquaracer (should be cheaper like 800). How would you rate the quality of the watch (metal, hardware)? Thanks again.
@khronokraze

@husseinbaghdadi4533 the quality of the watch is there. It's titanium, so really light and comfortable. Especially since titanium acclimates the wrist temperature quickly. So, good in both hot and cold weather. If you like a weightier watch, then do the as and save some $$. However, I don't care for the.high polish bits on the ss models, especially on the bracelet. I like the matte color of the titanium. And, for a full titanium watch and bezel, the bezel action is excellent for being titanium as they are usually kind of crappy and unrefined and gritty feeling and sounding. Not so with this TAG. See my other videos on this watch to get a better look and additional thoughts and opinion about it.

Btw, it should be no surprise it is really accurate. And, the bi-color lume is quite good, too.
Some ppl mentioned is using citizen quartz movement ? I know it’s solar powered panel to make the thing tick

"the traditional horizontal-lined sunray-brushed dial is semi-translucent to allow light to power the TH50-00 solar movement. Made in collaboration with TAG Heuer and La Joux-Perret (owned by Citizen), the movement will never need a battery change, with two minutes of sunlight powering the watch for a full day and 20 hours of solar charge providing six months of power."

@@khronokraze I bet it is a rebranded Citizen E168 movement, assembled by LJP in Switzerkand, with the same parts.
The crown was popped because that puts the solar watch in low power mode, so it will run for months with no light to charge it.

Yeah, but it wasn't full pulled to hack the movement. If it was, then that would have stopped it and it would save the energy stored.
How accurate is it? have you tested it?
@khronokraze

I keep accuracy records of all my watches. From 1/31 to 2/11 it gained 1 sec total. That equates to +0.09 s/d so far.
Nice watch bro but a bit pricey for the spec. Tag is increasing their price in all models :(
It's a great looking watch! But for the price you'd expect an automatic. Still, I do want it.

The whole point is in the solar quartz movement. It’s a durable grab-and-go watch for someone who’s the outdoorsy type.

@@randomdude6249 Yeah, I know. But the price is a bit steep for what it is was my point. But I love the look of it.

I’ve had a few Tag autos and each one gave me problems after 3-5 years, one of them after a service costing £480. I’m going back to quartz or solar from now on, more accurate and more reliable.

Actually, there are a number of advantages by making this available in quartz - the movement doesn't really need service. Think electric car vs internal combustion cars - much less expensive to maintain. And yes, servicing mechanical watches can be quite expensive! But everyone has different needs and desires - I'm happy we have the choice.
How does this piece compare to the New Sinn T50 Automatic Titanium? I heard the Sinn has 500m water resistance and comes in at $3840.
@khronokraze
Жыл бұрын
Not sure. I have no experience with the T50. I would say from what I've read, the Sinn should be tougher being it has more tech inside as well as out with more hardened scratch resistant surface. And, the Son is automatic where as this TAG is Solar Quartz. Accuracy, the TAG should surely be a lot more accurate and so far it is maybe the most accurate watch I own outside of my G-Shock since that gets both radio and Bluetooth updates to always be accurate.

Sinn is at a whole another level regarding quality, finishing and overall product. Sinn you get more than you pay for! Tag you pay for the brandname a lot.

Saw both watches this week and the Sinn feels like a tool watch. 500m water resistance. The Tag Like a toy.
Ur better than me, thts a lot of money for a “Quartz” watch.

The movement in this probably costs the same as a comparable ETA.
@brafman1
Жыл бұрын
No, it doesn't, its a relatively low-end solar movement from Citizen, despite the misleading marketing. Unlike higher end solar movements, there is no perpetual calendar, and the second hand has visible backlash.
@lookatwrist

@@brafman1 That's utterly disappointing.
@williamlee0

The ordinariness of the movement, with the wild backlash feature, kills this concept, at least at that price. I'd buy the body and the finish if i could replace the engine and transmission.
