I started listening to tafseer of sura Al-Bakara by Nouman Ali Khan until I reached part 63 and they stopped updating that so I decided to try Adbul Nasir and man oh man what a fantastic way of explaining things he has !

Ma sha AllaH! I want to mention something here. I'm a masters level student of applied linguistics and we studied that Arabic is a pro drop language as in it doesn't need subjects. So saying or writing a word without subject in Arabic is absolutely valid unlike non-prod languages such as English, French, Bengali and a list of other languages.

The Qur'an is the *mention* of the mercy on Zakariyya (as), not the mercy itself

Shaikh, at 15:35 you said that the mention of mercy on Zakariyyah (A) was the Quran, how so? The Quran was revealed much after his time, so why is it a mercy on him?

19/4 :...... shaqiyya Shaqiyy(a) means unfortunate. It is derived from shaqawa (to be unfortunate or deprived). The opposite of shaqiyy is sa3eed Sa3eed is derived from Sa3aada (to have good fortune)
