Zakaria has been asking for a child for a long time. You can imagine how surprised and happy he felt after having a child at his age, and that Allah finally gave him a child. Of course he will be surprise that after so many Duas and prayers he finally got his own child.

Masha Allah very very informative!!! that really boosts our confidence when making du'a to Allah! I wanted to point something out though. From a female perspective, it's actually the opposite: I personally feel more distracted when praying in group, at a congregation, than when praying alone, far from the eyes of the people. I guess the male perspective differs, and I found it interesting!

As salamu alaikum n jazak Allah khairan for the beneficial lecture, I am bit confused about a thing that when Allah grant a child to Zakaria, why did the news surprise him when he was the one who asked for a child to Allah??? it is like his du'a had been granted then why was he surprise to have a child at his old age, Allah grant him a child because he asked for it. I would appreciate if somebody can clarify my confusion. JazakAllah khairan .

Waalaikumasalam, News didn't surprise him, he was just curious to know that how its going to happen? just like GOD is directly sending a child from heaven or like a normal procedure etc. He was so excited that he got curious about the procedure. Just like Hazrat Essa AS said how can you give life to a death person, means he was just curious to know the procedure and immediately he said that I am just asking to enjoy the moment or for Itminan-e-Qalb. Jazak Allah
