The secret is Jessica doesn't overdo it but rather complementing Taeyeon's voice. Tae's strong voice and Jessica's sweet style are good combination. So it sounds good. How I miss them.

taengsic is the backbone of snsd's songs. they're the one who mostly sings the chorus plus their adlibs and harmonization makes it even more beautiful. that's why when sica left the group, there's always something missing in snsd's songs. sica's angelic voice is the only one who can match and blend perfectly with taeng's powerful voice. i miss them so much :

janehyunlady mamamoo are all amazing At harmonization (especially Wheein and Solar) but Taengsic is such a good pair. Iconic and forever best.

Only Taeyeon can match and blend well with Jessica’s voice. And only Jessica can match and blend well with Taeyeon’s voice. Try combining their voices together even if its a same song-same lines or different song-different lines. Once you hear it, its never tiring to hear. Despite the fact that i love them and GG, i really love their voices. Its just heavenly. Check out their “If I ain’t got you” harmony. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Super agree. And I also observed that ever since Jessica left the group (until now we do not really know the reason(s)), Taeyeon's facial expression became lonesome even if she showed/shows happy face from Oct. 2014 onwards.

The reason why both Tae & Jessica's voice blends very well is because they balance each other's voice. Taeyeon with Tiffany's, who have both powerful voice, it's like they're clashing. Same goes with Seohyun. Just imagine TTS unit with all those powerful voice in one. Although TTS voice will give you a powerful performance, you can't help but think that they are like competing with one another with all those powerful belts. While TaengSic's voice & Harmonization, it's just different. Jessica's voice is like a creamer that balance & smoothens Taeyeon's strong & powerful voice.

And when it comes to a real Harmony, there is Seohyun, she has the most flexible vocal range among the others and shw really blends really well with almost everyone.

Seriously till this day no one will ever beat taengsic's voice together... No one will ever make me feel the same way their voices makes me feel. It's just out of this world.

you can say anything about the two of them, whether they fight, don't get along or anything, but you can't deny that after Jessica left the group, SNSD's sound has changed

Taeyeon and Jessica's vocals suit each other so well bc they layer each other. Jessica has a naturally higher pitched voice, in comparison Taeyeon's is naturally lower. When they sing together it layers beautifully, you can hear them both and one voice isn't fighting to be heard over the other the way it does when Taeyeon sings with Tiffany or Seohyun (no hate to them obvi) these two also have the most vocal range in the group and that adds to it. When they sing you can tell its two people together, and it makes it feel like they belong together. Just listening to the last song in this video (into the new world) no one in SNSD can sing along with Taeyeon like that. Its honestly a tragedy in kpop that we'll never hear these 2 iconic voices together again.

Teayeon + Jessica = such a blessing Taeyeon + Jessica + Seohyun = bonus!

TaengSic is a ultimate killer part duo in SNSD. Never be the same anymore after ot9 is gone 😢

I honestly don't hear such beautiful harmonization in any other girl groups except this 2. Jessica and Taeyeon was golden, a secret weapon because of their beautiful, controlled voices. I honestly stopped listening to kpop as much when I heard Jesisica left. I was heartbroken. But i still supported them all silently. I love Taeyeon's and Jessica's solos

Since Jessica was so raw in day 1, SM took the opportunity to trained her in a way that it would complement Taeyeon voice. Hence TaeSica is just LETHAL!

The hardest part of stanning them late is missing the chance to ever hear taesic harmonization live.

sm really knew what they were doing when they put these 2 in the same group. it's so sad what ended up happening

Taeng has a smooth and powerful voice while Sica's is smooth, light and sweet voice yet the colour of their voices blend so well that it sounds like 1 person singing, that's why it sounds similar while at the same time it's not! It's the colour of their singing tones that really makes a difference, because there are a lot of good, powerful vocals out there but only these two tones blend together so well. It works like this for every vocal, just that it's hard to find a good match much less an almost perfect complement, but Taeyeon and Jessica found it in each other's singing voice! And that's why nothing will beat this, until someone else finds their perfect complementary singer, which has yet to happen although there are already many good or very good duets :-)

When they sing together their voices become one

Besides, SM ent gave its blessings twice i mean if the brand was the problem they could've disagreed to it the second time Jess asks their permission, they supported it by having an advertisement with a girl wearing Jess's brand.. Damn…..their voices complement each other so perfectly. Jessica’s voice is so angelic and whispery but it cuts through Taeyeon’s much more powerful vocals. It’s not overshadowing but it finds a perfect time and place in Taeyeon’s vocals to cut through crisply. It’s hard to describe and I’m not even remotely musical at all. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds like two voices YET one.
