Even if taemin isn't the best vocalist in shinee or kpop, I can say he made the best transition from debut till now, I think we can say that. Because he even has a phrase called Pulling a Taemin where you improve in something greatly from one point to the next.

by mna in case you're still looking for the songs: C#5 are Danger, Ace, Pretty Boy (his solo songs), Hitchhiking (by SHINee) and the G2 is Excuse Me Miss by SHINee

Duuuuuude I am a really big fan of Taemin especially, but when he "pulled a Taemin" I was so shocked and was even still skeptical until I found your videos. I was so wrong all this time doubting my ultimate bias omg. He developed well!!

@@mikhalopez5837 it's a term coined after Taemin as he made a legendary vocal improvement from zero to an AA vocalist or a weak sub-vocalist to main vocalist material. So if anyone else made as huge improvement as he does, people would say they "pull a Taemin". Let's say you Mikha improved vocals to the extent that Taemin did, people would say, Mikha "pull a Taemin"

Hello! I really enjoy your videos and your website! I just wanted to ask, do you think Taemin has improved in his last album? Personally i noticed a lot of improvement, even in his expressivity, but since i dont know much about vocal technique, i wanted a professional opinion :) Thank you!

From the few live performances I was able to watch I noticed no improvement on his vocal technique, if anything he seemed tired. That's about it. Thank you for trusting the opinion of the blog though. ^ ^

The point when I made the video was that I was not going to make a vocal range video for anybody else because they were either a sub vocalist or a rapper. I have a friend who made Key's video anyway and Minho.. is well.. a rapper, not a lead nor main vocalist.

тıɴɑ тɑe I haven't noticed much of an improvement, he's been consistent with the improvement he made up until now but hasn't improved more. I didn't really get a chance to listen to this album, I only watched some live performances but since you suggested Until Today, I'm listening to it. Even though it's a studio recording, his lower falsetto has improved since about 2012/2013 but it's still in need of work. Not bad at all though.

Yeah I think he would focus on that since he's had the solo and he wants to shed to baby image and create a unique style. I really hope he gets better. If his mix is THAT developed he could really have 3 developed registers if he put the work in.

So has he improved any with his new album? or stayed the same?

Basically Taemin has improved from 2011 ~ 2014, over those years, many improvements have happened for Taemin, but only in his mixed range.. for the rest, if anything, he has gotten slightly worse in his lower range and uses a lot of vocal fry to overcompensate not being able to project his second octave notes and his falsetto was left very underdeveloped.

TwistedTheorist I meant to reply to this a lot earlier. Mhmm That is wrong, Key is quite underdeveloped as a baritone. He has a very extensive mixed voice but everything past D4 is very shouted for him, Minho has a very thin mixed voice and although both have very nice voices, their technique is very subpar compared to the other 3 tenors in SHINee. Key's technique is adequate, he's got support but he relies a lot on his throat for singing instead of breath support.

+Samantha Sings Well technically he's a vocalist but he's not a lead nor main vocalist. What I meant though was that that was the last video I'd make for a SHINee vocalist, so if someone makes a video for Key, it's not going to be me. I know a friend of mine has already pretty much finished a video for him actually, but she hasn't posted it yet. ^ ^

Brown Pearl I mean yes Key used to be more of an official lead vocalist but his technique hasn't really improved. I wish he didn't try to sing like he's a tenor. Anyway her username is 2NE1Bang but she hasn't posted it yet.
