Perhaps the idea is that Angels and Demons are the same fundamental thing in Tactics Ogre, just aligned towards different sides on the Law vs Chaos spectrum which is represented by Divine and Dark.

Unrelated to this but I had to mention because I just did it today. You can have divine ghost and skeleton. Unlike Ring of the dead, Book of the dead doesn't change element. Although Skeletons can't get benefit from being divine, ghosts can by being witches and warlocks. Now I have two of them, having Star Fall with all its STAB glory. Also they were the SB Divine Knight recruits thus being pretty buffed up. I fired all my previous ghosts and skeletons, newer ones are just ridiculous. Also Winged guys raised as Vartans became insane Liches as well, I didn't hope much from them but when I got my first one, my jaw dropped. Having a little less MP pool actually makes them better Salvation batteries.

Gameplay wise Lord Denam is basically the AI exclusive classes but even more lolbroken Story wise Ramza casually dogpiles on the most feared mercenary in Ivalice (Gaffgarion) and moves on like nothing happened, then he beats the shit out of Wiegraf (war veteran and a holy knight) so bad that he was close to dying, and then he smacks him around again up to the point he needs to transform. Oh and he never completed official training, imagine if he followed his brothers' path and became an Ark Knight or something like that

🧙🏼‍♂🧙🏼‍♂ Alright Alright, I woke up from my nap, had my tea and could watch the video more calmly: ###################SPOILERS AHEAD!!############################## -Denam and Olivya is something plausible but I couldn't see this couple due to the lack of development (heck, one of the first things Denam does to her is hold her by the robe...if he just doesn't remember falling as a child this would have ended very badly!), I feel the same with the couple Alphonse and Eleanor... I know they're supposed to be a couple, but there's a lack of romantic development to make it plausible for me... but I'm glad that everything worked out on that boat, right? Hehehe -Vyce is completely hormonal, ranging from envy, anger, hatred, greed, arrogance, passion...ah, the good times of being a teenager. -POTD equipment is cheap because...it might be cursed!! Who would want to buy something that came from a place people shouldn't return from? It's insane! How do you know if the weapon is not cursed and would consume the bearer's life? Maybe the character classes that went insane in POTD were warriors who used these weapons outside of the palace? -Small curiosity: Albaleo/Rudlum has the power to reincarnate because Rashidi in MOTBQ was looking for this and he, being his apprentice, was responsible for discovering a way to do this...both he and Rashidi can do this, so the search was successful... .maybe the secret to this has to do with draconic magic and that's why A/R is so obsessed with it? -Gildora must be very beautiful because there are at least 2 characters who are in love with her in TO...pretty and crazy, jezzzzz.... -If Alphonse does not become Tartaros, it is very possible that the command of DK (Donkey Kong?) would go to someone else, or perhaps the group would be completely different, since Tartaros has DIRECT participation in the recruitment of some of the members (Balxephon) and in the growth the influence of the group and the pope (Sardian's Coup d'état). Perhaps Sardian would not rise to power and the king of Lodis would still be in charge. -Deneb only uses beauty products to rejuvenate...they work like MAGIC! (It's probably made with silver pumpkins and dragon bits, which is why she's so fascinated with it) -It is very clear to me that Brantyn was the one who caused the corruption of Dorgalua, the story goes that someone killed the bodyguard who would be responsible for opening the chaos gate for the king to return, Brantyn was the one who benefited most from his disappearance (and could advance his plans to become the leader of the bakram) and he would probably know Dorgalua's plans from some internal source in the castle. -Tartaros' crime is to have been negligent, as a commander he is responsible for the actions of his subordinates, not opposing the Golyat massacre is enough for me... not putting Barbas, Oz and Balxephon in their place either... He is a weak leader who even led to a mutiny within his own group, absurd! -Nybeth's crime is to violate the dead against their will, as they simply return violent, suffering and at his command. Gildas would never fight on behalf of Nybeth, he is not just using his body as a piece of his soul is still present, so it is pure slavery. -Maybe, just maybe, lizardmen are descendants of Fogel? Maybe the combination of human and dragon results in reptile? And the fact that they have a connection with the divine is precisely the soul of the divine dragon that passes genetically? -Deneb and Canopus must have done a lot of things together in the MOTBQ period while they were soldiers in Destin's group, these two must have had a lot of lore in common also when they took up positions in Tristan's kingdom in Xenobia (Canopus as leader of the beast squad and Deneb as a mage of the magic squad under Warren). -Warren is very powerful but he cannot interfere with the timeline... I like to see him as an agent of destiny (or perhaps sent directly by the gods), he is the one who judges your morals at the beginning of MOTBQ, he is the one who is responsible for judging whether or not Destin is the predestined chosen one to free the xenobians, he is responsible for writing the pages that tell the story with details that he would hardly have known if he were just a normal character... about draconics, Maybe he learned it on Dragon Island in MOTBQ? About the knowledge of closing Chaos Gates...maybe he's done it before? Perhaps he was present at the Ogre Battle and was precisely responsible for it (which would corroborate him being an envoy of the gods, perhaps one of those who descended in the last battle to help humans)... another strange detail is that he is the only one who was trapped inside a Chaos Gate and simply wasn't corrupted by the underworld or became an ogre, quite the opposite, he was there fighting god knows what was on the other side for god knows how long (Denam didn't go down the 100 floors to save him quickly, I can assure you of that)...Warren is basically our Gandalf, that's it. -Good theory about Deneb, but I like another approach: maybe Deneb doesn't reincarnate, maybe she's an entity that comes down to earth from time to time... I took this theory from KOL where to recruit her you just need to have a character you have done some things (aka prepared the avatar) and renamed it to Deneb and that's it, Deneb mysteriously appears in your group as if it were an entity that was "summoned" into a body. She would be a kind of female Loki, appearing wherever there are conflicts to do her personal crazy things and have fun...yes, like the Mask movie.

Solid points all around, responding to what I can remember, because phone UI: Cursed Weapons make a ton of sense, but why are they cheaping out on this ornate gilded shit we got in heaven? I kinda like the KoL romance. It's got that awkward "we've both got messed up backgrounds" survivor thing going on. It's not the kind of thing that gets books written, but is a comfortable type of situation for those that needed to start fresh, and ran into someone else that needed the same. He's always awkwardly looking for reasons to go back like "man...Eleanor...I just don't know how I can possibly decide on lunch today!" She's just happy to be away from a traumatic place...I can see it working out. Denam and Olivia is a bit of a convenience pick for sure, but hasn't he said before that he doesn't know how to write romances? Hell, I'd still take that over the FE approach any day. She clings, he probably decides he can't recruit new units on a boat with no shop and starts trying to make babies, who knows? Wish we knew more on draconics. It's so weird how they're just public knowledge in Ovis, and forbidden everywhere else. Maybe they're the Texas of this universe..."No, Officer, I need this Warp magic to get these damn boars out of my yard!" It wasn't him? I'll have to rewatch that one. While we don't know too much about each of the houses without inferences like your predictions video, I get the feeling that someone doesn't get so much untouchable clout for so many repeated face plants without being the guy that was the crux of the overthrow originally. He was desperate, loyal, and capable...the other KCs seem like they would have been too self involved to pull it off in my book. Balxephon presumably wouldn't have blinded Hobyrim, so it's likely Ozma wouldn't even be involved. Volaq seems more the peaceful constable sort, so I'd expect they wouldn't really be able to pull it off. Anyways, I gotta get back to work, great to see you here!

I used to think Vagrant Story was actually part of Ivalice until finding out years back it was SE that placed it into that setting, not Mitsuda, in his words. It's hard to accept that corporate move against the creator's intent, so I keep it separate despite them trying to make it canon with TO: Reborn and FFXII. Not much Mitsuda can do aside go along with it.

@@CoffeePotato Good grief, Matsuno! I knew something was wrong typing Mitsuda lol! There was a Mitsuda, but can't remember his role. I used to get their names confused and did it again. I wish Matsuno would be able to make the sequel and see what he intended for the setting and story to be and go. Squaresoft back then wasn't blameless, as anything that had acclaim it seems not done by veterans staff had one-shots. They lost a lot of talent doing this or cut off Square having, possibly, IPs overshadowing Final Fantasy with Xenogears, The Phantom Pain series and Chrono series. I'm not sure if it was allocating that budget reserved to FF or not have teams on the same scale as working on the flagship.

hilarious that warren is (potentially) the most powerful character in the game, yet is holding back enough that he can instantly fall over in coda 2 😂😂😂😂 E: finishing up the video, if rodrick is doing the do-overs, how would Denam fit into this since he can also do it? (or am i wrong that the chariot is more a gameplay mechanic and not canon)

Can't argue that Tarty did nothing wrong. This has a lot of stuff I never stopped to think about. I think the main things on there common with mine are Denam X Olivya and Canopus X Deneb. I think Vyce being horny was there too.

Some stuff I'd add include whether Catiua liked Denam in "that way", how Matsuno wanted you to disregard the idea of Iuria and Gilbald in a relationship, Deneb having a "true body", whether Matsuno hated TKOL, and a cut start of chapter screen in the SFC version which describes Denam and Balbatos teaming up.

honestly im not a fan of the Ogre universe and Ivalice being the same, just tired of the multiverse trope being overused nowadays, and it is just so make a story seem grander than it is, while losing all stakes cause characters deaths and huge happenings in the story can be reverted by going into the next universe or something, they always treat the universe jumping with no hard rules so basically becomes a get out of jail free card for writers when they write themselves into a corner.

I like to think of them being less the same, and more like a lunch box that fell over, and now you have ranch in your ketchup. In this idea they're just hitting randomize on the pieces until something happens.

What's really wacky is that Nier is potentially canon to Tactics Ogre (and both stories hinge on a bad end for one of the main characters). Nybeth appears in an FF14 Dungeon called Palace of the Death, and has a whole storyline, Lich and all, and is confirmed to have come from another world. Nier characters also appear in FF14 inside a raid. Yoko Taro said all appearance of Nier characters outside Nier itself is canon to the Nier story. The world of Tactics Ogre canonically exists in Nier.

Yeah, I'm not sure that actually works. Taro saying something doesn't make it so, rather his own take considering how his world and lore works. Now if FFXIV is a hodge-podge of IPs, then Garo and other collabs with non-SE brands is also canon, so you can see the issue with that logic. Also a correction on your thinking: Nier would be canon to FFXIV through interdimensional circumstances, as would anything concerning Ivalice as it's not the actual world of Ivalice. The two are connected to Eorza, not one another.

Its more Nier has the quirk of Taro calling every crossover technically canon cuz timelines n verses n stuff. Ofc its not *literally* canon, but with the rules of Nier canon it kinda could be.
