Looks like you should have gotten 6x6 instead of 6x8 side plates.

The cummerbund is not for tightening the vest. That is what the buckles are for. It is only there to hold the side plates and other gear. That is why they are stretching when you are using them to secure the vest.

Insides the side plate pocket there’s an extended piece of the hook and look. It’s folded down flat against the inside of the pocket, to accommodate those larger side plates.

Their are extensions inside for the side plates that will accommodate both plate sizes.

I got the exact same plate carrier. I got the S size and it fits me perfectly. The 6x8 plates fit as well, there is an extended strap for the bigger side plate.

Get the cumberbun and tighten the part that threads through the rear carrier plate section. Get the adjustable pouches and install on the molle that aligns the side plates to your body. I'm 6'-4'" tall, 275lbs. I had to adjust mine and get the external pouches to get things to line up. The side plate pouch flaps are attached via velcro. REMOVE the flaps and adjust to the correct height for the 6x8 plates.

I got the same vest but black camo. $90 on Amazon. I did have to modify to get the 6x8 to fit the sides. But it works for me doing security

I dunno about the elite but I got the battle vest lite and it’s amazing, plates and trauma pads fit perfect and covers fine and sits still right where I like it. I bet with some modification and some tweaking you could fix those issues easily, but you shouldn’t have to modify shit right out of the box. But at the same time somthin like armor and carriers it all comes down to personal preference.

design-wise it's really similar to a Condor MOPC Gen 2, with the side buckles and similar outline. compared to other systems on the market, the design is a bit outdated, and you essentially are paying an extra $50 for the same ergonomics / feel of a $70 plate carrier.

I just ordered mine. I'm 5'10 140 lbs and went for the medium plates and 6x6 side plates but both of mine are coming with trauma pads which should thicken it a bit. Do you have trauma pads?

I stand 5'2" tall and weigh 135 lbs. so if the cummerbund on this rig is too large for you imagine how this thing would fit someone like me. I have a hard time finding chest rigs that fit me properly as it is, given my small waist and short torso so aside from the side plate issue you demonstrated this rig would definitely not work for me. Have you got any recommendations for a plate carrier or chest rig that adjusts small enough for smaller individuals? There's no problem finding rigs that will fit taller or overweight individuals but for those of us who take care to not have those love handles it's a problem. I've had the same problem you have with the height adjustments not allowing me to carry the plates high enough to cover my vitals and you're 5" taller than I am. Now I understand that I'm on the shorter end of the spectrum and a 29" waist is not the most common but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't be able to find a rig that'll fit me. I have considered rigs that are made for children but they will typically only hold 3 mags on the front placard and won't hold standard size plates. To be honest, I think they're catering more to the overweight individuals these days as our society has become an overweight society. The American population is the fattest per capita in the world with Canada coming in second. That's not something we should be proud of. In short, I'm open to ideas. P.S. The closest I've been able to come as to waist size is the OneTigris FYR Tactical Vest as the claim it will size down to a 32" waist, but I'm still uncertain as to the ride height. I do agree with you , i really dont know of any other i had to pay to eliminate the stretch material and get it sowed together to make it work didn't look anywhere else after that. Hopefully you can find something good luck

Thanks for responding to my question. Glad your modification worked out for you. OneTigris has a couple of rigs I'm considering, one of them will go down to a 30" waist which may work when you consider the plates will add some girth. Their Low Profile Tactical Vest 2.0 only goes down to a 34" waist but it rides pretty high so it should fit anyone with a 30" waist with an athletic build as you'd be wider towards the top. It also has the elastic cummerbund which you'd probably like. The one I'd more likely go with is the FYR Tactical Vest which can accommodate a 32" waist which may work for me considering the plates will add some girth to my 29" waist. I think either of these might work for us, and I can say that from my experience OneTigris makes quality gear, especially considering their affordable prices. I only wish they were an American veteran owned company like Tacticon. Thanks again for responding and best wishes.

Thanks for the review. I have been looking at their vest. I have their battle belt and love it. I have the condor lcs battle belt as well andlove them both only got the tacticon belt like 1.5 yrs ago when it was 20 bucks on Amazon and the condor was 80 bucks. Tacticon is pretty awesome but I wanted to compare this carrier to the condor mopc. Appreciate it. Also did you tightened the cummerbund in the rear? You can remove the shock cord and pull the tabs of the cummerbund closer together,o everlaping each other as muchas possible and then weave the shock cord back through both the molle other carrier and the cummerbund. I believe tacticon may have a video showing how to size it properly. Thanks again and good luck brother.

We start with a baseline of overpriced, but good, plate carriers then we make modifications to them to make them even better, then offer them at a 1/3 of the price.Also... Patent infringement? That's a heavy allegation. Where's the patent? Shoot over the US Patent Number so I can check it out! Thanks for the troll though. The side plates are definitely too big for that size carrier. Im similar build as you and had the same issues with the elastic band, i agree they need too make it moe adjustable or redesigning it completely . I sold my to someone else and bought condor . I do really like their plates , worth the money. Just my 2 cents

I'm 6'2 250ish and the battle vest fits like a glove. Get you some cummerbund quick detaches. It will help sizing the vest

Sounds like most of your issues come from the carrier not being properly fitted to your body. As for the side plate issue there is typically a strap extension in the side pocket that is designed to help secure those larger plates.

Do you have any requirements for materials?

I have to agree. You got their 6x8 side plates when your side plate carrier is meant for 6x6 plates. Not NAs fault, yours in my opinion.

THE cummerband should be removable and you can adjust its length so the side plates dont overlap your front plate

640 dollars for a crap carrier? Holy you know what! I have no problem cruising the airsoft channels for gear recommendations. I just have tailor to reinforce the stitching of the stress points and I'm still ahead price wise.

Did they replace it or fix yours I have a athletic physique and I’m pretty sure mine doesn’t fit like that let me know

Why should they do that? He bought 6x8 side plates and the vest is for 6x6. He doesn’t know how to adjust the rear of the cummerbund to allow the plates to sit where they should. Every bit of his issues are user error.

If youd watch the whole video you would see the cummerbund is maxed out all the way, the vest says plates are for both size plates. Ignorance at its finest

should be a longer velcro strap in the side pouch. i have one like that. 6x6 fits with the big flap, 6x8 uses the sewn-in velcro strap. a small piece of shock cord or 550 from the top tab to the eyelet / drain hole would also keep that side plate tucked in tight. and then i'd try moving the cord in the back panel connections from those eyelets to the molle on the end of the opposite panel, it would give you more overlap and snug it up.

I feel like you didn’t buy the proper size, and proper sized plates, you got a large sized carrier for a medium sized guy and 6X8 sides when it’s 6x6

Look like you should have measured the compartments before ordering the plates, our the vest is not standard to designed, see if you can send the plates back for different size.

in iraq we threw away the side plates ..only used chest & back plates

@@lucascarter8008 It's probably a better investment than what I bought a few years back. I got the level IIIA+ from Safeline Defense. Wish I'd done more research tho because I didn't realize the Kevlar expires! Some say it only really expires from sweat and that it stay good for longer than they say. That the expiration is somewhat nonsense to get people to buy another every 5 years.

I saw this review after buying mine. Ours are both identical other than the color. I will say my cummerbund is also way too loose. I’m 5’11” 145 lbs and the side plates when tightened are near the front plate. I have a sewing machine so I will be sewing mine too. Other than that, it seems like it has a good build quality. Got it with their spring discount for $90

you really should'a watched someone else's review before you made this video. you spent 5 minutes complaining about the flap on the side pocket when all you had to do was fold out the flap from inside. And the rest of the video complaining about the size, I'm a little guy so I had to tigthen the cords in the back and it fits perfect after that. I also installed Tacticon quick release cummerbund so I can get out of it in a flash. just for size ref I'm 5'4" 165lbs

Excellent review for an AVERAGE HUMAN! I'm sorry you have to go through this. I also disagree with that one-week return policy. If it was only just opened and tried on, they should have worked with you to assure your satisfaction. I won't even consider them now.

The plate pocket has an extension. Also should have gone with ceramic or polyethylene. And if you open your back plate picket you can adjust your cummerbund there.

Can’t recommend product. Then goes onto show that they have very limited knowledge on how to use the gear properly. It’s not the product. It’s user error

Tacticon uses the cheapest airsoft gear and sells it as a premium. You're better with TMC and it's way better made, better materials and so on... PS: use some elastic cord on the back of the cummerbund and weave it through the molle loops and don't use that elastic. Like on the JPC cummerbund
