Had a couple of old fashioned's last night and bought a carrier and swimmers cut 3+ armor and trauma pads. Woke up today and don't regret it at all.

I’m getting one soon. Definitely calling Tacticon to get it. I like my predator v2 guys! It does in fact hold zero on a 458 SOCOM. So I don't think it'll have a problem with pretty much any other AR caliber. Affordable, dependable and compatible

Just ordered

The plates are installed and I can crouch down, reach my arms out, and all other full movements are not hindered by my 10 x 12 SAPI cut plates. They are heavy so they weigh down shoulders and might cause soreness rubbing on shoulders on an all day hike. My estimation is that the frag mitigation coating is there mostly for psychological security than to actually protect from spalling. I knew that going into the product category which is the nature of inexpensive steel plates. People buy these knowing well that getting shot with these on you may very well still get very injured but atl east you still stand a fighting chance to heal the wounds. That is all I expect from these, and that is what anyone will get at this price point. I am very happy with this purchase, just like I have always been happy with my Tacticon purchases. The website has a registration section to receive a warranty on the armor. However, from the selections, there is no selection for body armor. Probably because armor is so new to their webstore. Love this armor. Thank you once again Tacticon!

Thanks for your feedback on this product. Please note that the the frag mitigation coating is 100% real and effective. I just made a video yesterday of me dumping a 30-round mag of 5.56 55 grain FMJ into a plate with our frag mit coating and it contained all of the frag. The only time the frag mit coating began to fail is when I put another 12 or 13 rounds of 7.62x39 into it after the 30 rounds of 5.56. I'll upload the video soon... subscribe to my channel and you'll get notified when I do.

I just watched one, it is what brough me here. It was titled to the effect of if you are wearing plates will you die.

Just got mine today, I ordered it with 2 plates, 2 side plates and each plate came with trauma pads. Make sure the trauma pads are between you and the armor.

This will be my first body armor purchase, and I'm a little confused with the plate cut options and which would be ideal? Are the shooter's cut and hybrid's just lighter and more maneuverable? Is the SAPI cut more constricting?

The SAPI Cut offers the most coverage. The hybrid has an aggressive cut on the right (or left) side of the plate depending on your dominant hand that allows for you to shoulder a rifle while wearing the plates, and while still offering the SAPI cut protection on the non-dominant side of the plate. The full "shooter's cut/swimmer's cut" we offer has the aggressive cut on both sides of the plate allowing for additional mobility, shouldering rifle on either side, and reducing the weight.

For a $50 plate carrier it's a handsdown the best plate carrier I bought.

does there ar 500 3+ steel side plates have good anti spalling?

Bought a vest and I loved it. The only problem is I honestly dont know who put two left side cummberbunds. They literally put the left side one upside down for the right side. So as you can imagine the side plate hydration valve was upside down, and you can already guess how much of a safety hazard that is, so I returned it and got my refund back. Probably wouldve given it another try if they allowed me to return it but they didnt. Might buy a T3 or a Shellback plate carrier.

No complaints here. I bought the vest, side plates including trauma pads and a 3 magazine holder . Darn thing weighs 30 pounds. Not their fault. I lost 30 pounds beating cancer. Too heavy for me now. Hopefully I can find a friend to sell it to. Hate to get rid of it. I have purchased other things from these guys. Great service and quality products.

Sorry to hear that brother! Cheers to you beating Cancer! Can't even imagine. If I can offer a tip? if you don't want to sell, try downsizing on the side plates or the mags in the front to minimize weight! might help might not, either way we appreciate the support!

Since speed is a big factor in defeating armor, the 55gr FMJ 5.56 has proven to be more effective at getting through steel plate armor than green tips. Will this armor be able to stop the 55gr fmj 5.56? Most level 3+ plates claim they will.

Yes, 100% tested and true. These plates will stop 55 gr FMJ, 62 gr M855 green tip, .308, 7.62x39mm. If you need me to upload a video of the plate getting shot with 55 grain FMJ I would be obliged to do so.

You specifically only mention this being a III+ because of M855 coverage (and your website also lists M855A1 coverage), and no mention of the V50 threshold for 55gr FMJ? 3000 fps? 3100? 3200?+. The New RF1/2 ratings will require stoppage at 3,250 fps. I like that you are actually lot testing the steel, but really should include chronograph #s for each test, and you should have your results validated third party by NIJ Lab..

Just wanted to update on this. They do appear to have now included testing the 55gr FMJ 5.56 rounds out of a 20 inch barrel now. You can see it in their newer batch testing videos on their website. I am satisfied.

What plate carrier do you use? Or is it made by Tacticon?

Hi Jake. I bought your red laser sights from you earlier this year. The batteries seem to drain really fast with them. I even went and bought brand new duracells to use, and they still don't seem to last long in the lasers. Am I doing something wrong?

They reply quickly if you e-mail them. tacticon.com/elements/pages/contact/ They've taken care of any issue I've ever had. Also, lasers do eat up batteries pretty quickly. You only get about an hour out of one set of batteries, regardless of brand.

Lasers do eat batteries, but there are differences in battery quality. My career for over a quarter century was in electronic equipment service with a focus on portable, battery operated gear. I found Energizers to be the most reliable from a standpoint of not damaging expensive gear with leaking electrolyte as well as significantly better power density, that is they last longer. I tested this myself and one of our suppliers (a well known international electronics company) also tested this in AAA size cells with the same result. All the Duracells I have encountered lately are made in China, Energizers in the U.S. While a great deal of quality gear comes from China, my experience is that quality control can be "iffy". For my personal kit, I go with Energizers first, and if not available then Panasonic. While I haven't personally experienced it, there are some horror stories about counterfeit Panasonic button cells from China (genuine are made in Japan) so I purchase them only from a brick and mortar retailer. I go through a fair amount of batteries and keep a drawer stocked with Energizer AAA, AA, C & D as well as Energizer and Panasonic button cells for optical sights, car remotes, etc. The bunny doesn't lie.

Jake here. Thanks for reaching out. If your battery dies on the laser sight under an hour try energizer brand batteries. If that doesn't work then we probably need to replace the unit for you as something is causing the battery to drain faster than it should. Possibly a parasitic draw on your unit when the unit is not being used. Thanks for reaching out. Please use our website to contact us so we can fix the issue for you if it persists.

@@laturista1000 I just got mine yesterday. Its honestly quite nice and comfortable when you wear it. Also once it's on I dont notice the weight at all. As for ur jab at the side plates most if not all armor companies dont include them. Or if they do the price is increased to show it. I've got mine ordered. I'll have about 400$ invested at the end. That's carrier front back side plates and trauma pads for each with mag pouches for rifle and pistol mags.

Is your LPVOs water resistant?

Can't beat the price point, fit and finish is perfect so far.. Black friday deal was about $250 total 11×14 plates with 6×8 side plates, vest OD green. Add a tacticon belt and a couple combo rifle/pistol mag pouches. Probably still around $300 which is damn near unheard of. Shout out to this company man. ppl bitching bout weight lol man up

since there are no certification markings or data to show, i assume these are standard AR500 steel plates. Bulky, heavy, and when one gets shot the splatter goes everywhere.

Just brought SRT (Special Rifle Threat) 2.5 lb/plate Elite Bundle and notice the little issue with the BattleVest Elite Plate Carrier, apparently the insert space is not designed to fit 9.5*12.5 size armor plate since there is 0.5 inch sticking of the the plate carrier, the velcro of the plate carrier is too short to wrap that extra 0.5 inch which totally ruined the good design of this plate carrier. I emailed customer support two times for solution and no reply so far, hoping Jake or COO Danny can read this comment and help!

Damn Tacticon you sold me someone actually email me back to try it and slap a free priority shipping to test it for my liking thanks Jake.

Its rated against Green Tip .556... Unless youre getting shot with a .50 cal handgun you'll be fine. Also, dont get shot.

these plates might stop a 45 ACP or any handgun bullet, but imagine all the splatter in the neck arms and face. The shrapnel from the bullet smacking off the steel may end up being deadly.

Unfortunitly Connecticut implements the toughest body armor laws out of all states in the US. Residents are prohibited from purchasing or selling body armor with the exception of face to face sale.
