In fairness tho he did say that Kante went straight into the midfield and was able to stop the Spurs midfield dominance.. In terms of the game itself Kante's introduction meant that we were sharper but not a lot changed in terms of how we attacked.. Maybe he could point out that because Kante was there as a shield even Ruediger could venture forwards and he even put in a cross for Lukaku from that side and won back the ball that led to Kante's goal

What position are they each playing? Same questions for the opposing side? Who has the ball? How does the photo illustrate the point being made? These cuts are extremely useful, don’t get me wrong. What is holding Tuchel's Chelsea back is very good inside forwards that are good on the wings and in half spaces like Mane and Salah. I feel Mount and Havertz don't have the pace and killer instinct to cause havoc in the spaces created for them.

  • @pekainvest

Excellent observation. Chelsea would be devastating if that were solved as our pressing would be much better and our defensively line would be even higher, stifling teams. Mane is the most elite presser in the league. Tuchel is aware of this weakness I believe and longer term he will solve it by either developing Mount / Haverts or unleashing other players in their role. The weakness in our system is that we let teams out too early causing us to lose control in midfield. Fortunate that we have an elite defensive line (except Alonso of course).

Did you miss a good point where Chelsea were able to move the ball quicker and sharper in the second half after Kante came on for Mount? I think it's a good point of discussion because Spurs were basically more dominant in midfield in the first half. Though I think Tuchel wanted to add more numbers in the midfield and play a 3-5-2 with Kante and Kovacic to be two main ball carrier as two number 8s. Basically using these two players as a more advanced double pivot for wing-backs on the side and strikers up front. It makes a world of difference since Mount cannot dribble.

This is we’re the famous quote comes in, Attacks win games , defense win trophies 🏆. This would have been a totally different game if Chelsea conceded in the first half . But Chelsea struggled but defended well and didn’t concede .

we were good in the first half, but no end product, we out played them and they couldn't deal with us 1st half..then we lost steam...and momentum..kante came on and we failed to pick up on him..we made mistakes didnt track back. 2 stupid goals conceded and one dele didnt mark his man lets get this straight. this was Chelsea now the best team in the league. And they would have done the same to ANY team outside of the top 4 simple..dont make out like they destroyed us with goals they outplayed us

It was not that easy as the scoreline indicated but Chelsea were tactically smarter than Spurs. I trust you Spurs would surely take points from the other title contenders like liverpool and Manchester United. Remember Manchester City lost 1-0 on match day 1 at the same venue. Yeah but most teams will end up changing their style if they were to do that.. Take City for example who played us with a back 3 last season and for moments in the game were looking a bit clueless because they weren't used to playing that system.. A team like brentford, or wolves etc who play a back 3 system every week would have an easier job doing what you say should be done.. And then it comes down to being clinical and maximizing on the few chances that they'll get because I can't imagine them having that many chances against this Chelsea team
