Hi quick two questions, first did you use stock microphone or you had to run external one. Second question how is call quality , can people on the other side hear you loud and clear?

Not many aftermarket radios utilize the stock microphone. This radio comes with a built in microphone on the radio screen. It is okay, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best. They do add an additional microphone you can hook up and route to anywhere in the car. And that one sounds much better.

Have new speakers ordered and trying to decide on a budgets head unit. This looks great but how is the sound quality?

I already have the JBL sound system in my Tacoma, but the radio sounds just as good, if not a little better!

I didn’t see any sub outputs on the back of this unit. I have 2 twelves in my truck and my stock radio took a crap and I was wondering if this had a sub output for the back

For sub outputs, it is in a separate harness that I did not plug in. Since I was not going to use it. But this will work with after market subs if you have them.

Very nice install! Are you able to stream Netflix when parked? Or at the very least mirror iPhone screen to the radio to watch Netflix? Would be nice to use for camping trips or waiting at the Costco gas station 😂

You can not get Netflix directly on the radio, because they block it from the google play store. But you can mirror your screen if needed!

Ok I watched your video , I know you use mic built in the radio, how is call quality, and mostly is stock jbl amplifier turn on and back boom box working ?

As I replied to the other comments, the mic quality is okay from the built in one. I recommend you hook up the external one and route it somewhere. This does work with the JBL system. And everything works as normal. Might almost have slightly better sound quality.

Maybe this is a dumb question. If we upgrade the stock radio, do we lose navigation on the instrument cluster between the speed and rpm gauges?

I was wondering the same thing before I got mine, And sadly once you put the new radio in, it does not use the center screen for music or navigation.

@@MattZiggy​​⁠for me having Apple CarPlay was a better upgrade then having the instrument cluster navigation, unless your truck already has Apple CarPlay, would not upgrade either!

Yes the brand is idoing. It’s a great radio, have this radio in a few of my cars. But I have put the link in the description from where I got mine from.

i’m trying to figure out what size screen to get for my tacoma i just got recently 2018 tacoma .. it doesn’t have gps i want to upgrade my radio any suggestions??

This is a 9inch screen and i think it’s a perfect size! I deffinitly recommend the idoing radio. The only complaint is it is pricey!

Will this work on my 2019 Tacoma? Where can I purchase this head unit?

The factory backup camera works. I don’t have the 360 camera option on my truck.

Do you loose the ability to start the truck up with the app? I use this feature a lot and I would hate to loose it.

I've replaced my headunit in my 2021 with a Sony 9500es and the app still works for starting and unlocking my truck

I have the JBL system, and after changing the radio I did not notice any improvements nor did it get worse. But I have put this radio in other cars and the sound is usually an improvement from factory.

What year is your truck?

Honestly, I wish I would have upgraded sooner! This is a great upgrade from the factory radio. Now having wireless Apple CarPlay and a larger screen it’s a great radio, and I would recommend!

Did you loose and features or controls?

You will lose the navigation and compass in the driver screen it your truck has that equipped. Otherwise no other features lost .

Thanks for the reply! I think because of that I’m opting to keep the existing head unit. I’ve upgraded all my speakers and added an amp 75wx4@4ohms with an LC7i. Haven’t added subs or another amp yet, but that is coming. Everything has dynamat and designed my subwoofer box in solidworks this past weekend. Everything is really tight, but got it designed to down fire 3 cerwin Vega 6.5” subs driven by a kicker 800.1.

Is it delayed at all for audio?

When listening to music you don’t notice anything. But if you were to watch a video on your phone, and the audio through the radio there is a delay.

I am not sure, I know the radio says it works up to the 2021 model. Not sure if anything has changed for the 2023. I would reach out to idoing to verify fitment before ordering.

The radio on these units sucks, if you listen to radio a lot you're out of luck

I can admit the radio signal is not as good as the stock one, but it never bothers me since I never listen to the radio.

Are there sub connections? when i upgrade i want to also add subs

Yes this has the ability to add subs, it is a harness that they supply, I just did not add it on mine since I was not adding that.
