In reality a doctor wouldn't bother coming in to see a drunk driver's blood test, only a nurse would be needed for that. Doctors in hospitals are usually way too busy.

Maybe, it's a hospital in a town or smaller city.

This is not what anyone like John was expecting to hear.

Ah I've been looking for this one for a while. Jessica's anger is very much justifiable and my god the way John tries to avoid the blood test completely giving it away that he had been drinking. Not their most brutal ad but gets the point across pretty well.

The actor who played John in this ad also appeared in an episode of Blue Heelers where he played a very similar role - he was at the police station being interviewed and said "Is this *really* necessary? I didn't do anything wrong!".

I know is years late, but after watching ''Go to bed Jessica'', begs to question if this is that girl all grown up. First her father is jailed, and now her boyfriend, how tragic. Okay, they're probably not related, but imagine if they were...

Don't they breath test you at the scene of the accident to see whether you being drink driving? rather than take you to the hospital for a blood test

I don’t know how it is in Australia but in the UK, he would have gotten life. There was a law before 2022 where causing death by dangerous driving would warrant 14 years behind bars but the penalty is much harder today.

I'd give them the samples because I can't drink. They'd just have to find a good vein.

In the USA you have the right to refuse to give blood, since a warrant is needed to take someone's blood. In Australia, we don't have that right. Refusal to give a blood sample is an offence.

That isn't a right in Australia. Neither is self-defense or the password to your computer. I've helped Aussies secure data in a way that they can give a password but still keep important things safe from intrusion.
