    the DAVID JONES department store at upper mt gravatt where i shopped before closed on the 15th january this year i miss the old days in the 90s when department stores were pack full of people online shopping has really hurt retail in the past years

    David Jones as it was and should be. Woolworths SA destroyed it, especially the food halls, dark, forbidding, no real food or great expert team members

    @@Davez621 Colour TV was introduced in Australia way back in at least 1970, I grew up with a colour TV in the 90s but the David Jones commercials were always in black and white when I saw them in those days so I always thought that was normal only for the DJs commercials

    I've never seen this commercial before but I guess that the use of black and white was to make it look period vintage in some way. Could you imagine Steven Spielberg shooting the Liam Neeson film "Schindler's List" or the 1964 Burt Lancaster film "The Train" if it was shot in colour.
