    @16:10 the siglent is fairly settled after 45 minutes, but still drifts until it has been on for about 2.5 hours

    Yes agree, i am not saying the Siglent is bad, it is actualy very good and spot on, its just that in my lab, attic, the temprature just goes crazy at some point. Somehow the GWinstek and Agilent 34401A just hanlde that better. but i am sure if i could keep my temprature around 23c like in springtime... the siglent is spot on without drift.

    I can see the Siglent is bored in the background, and playing with itself ;P Another great review by the way Tony.

    Great buy! Congratulations! I saw the Siglent and the HP34401A in the background. You know, a man with two DMMs needs a third one to know which is on spot 😊 Can you plz keep all three running in parallel for some hours for comparison? My 34401A and my SDM 3065 are still on spot to the last digit after 3 years.

    You got your lucky day for sure. I never owned a high res bench meter despite having 0ver 50 multimeters in my collection. To me brand names mean nothing, as long as they are honest with all specs. My last few Ali Express orders turned out to be problematic. Ebay prices are substantially higher with Bangood or Temu never being a viable option.

    Sometime you just get lucky on your local ebay, Yeah! . very true no Banggood for me anymore, not even for free reviews, too disapointed to many times.

    The speed of 5/s doesn't look like a 5/s refresh rate, it’s implemented strangely instead of showing NPLC. The front panel design is quite unconventional; most multimeters use a design similar to Keysight. It has the same reference voltage source as the Siglent, which is much cheaper at least in Poland and has somewhat similar accuracy over 1 year (depending of the range) also Siglent has more counts. I considered GWinstek once, but I chose the Siglent and I am very very happy with it. I wonder if it has the option for user calibration.

  • @TonyAlbus

    @TonyAlbus

    Yes i am also happy with my Siglent and 2.200.00 counts, my problem is the heat in my lab(attic) if it was stable it work better, becouse mine was also spot-on when not to hot. It did have a calibration option, but locked with password i do not know... but i have it just a few hours now.

    Very nice. I have a siglent. Its amazing the quality test equipment you can get these days at reasonable prices. Tek Kiethley and hp really need to rethink their business model or risk going out of business and that would be a shame.

    Thanks, the Keithley DMM6500 was still on my list, when introduced price was around 1200 now it is around 1600+ .. i need to let it pass.. there are more and more other good product and brands too now. i am also a happy Siglent user SDS SSA SDG they could do better at PSU and Electronic load, but thats maybe just not their thing. Good stuff for reasonable price

    @@TonyAlbus The DMM6500 is really a different beast than all the Teledyne/Keysight inspired meters. It is fast as you already know, and especially when you are busy with resistances it is a joy that within a fingersnap the range switches from any range to any range. Because of the fast update rate it allows you to see weird behavior better, and if you don't like that, you can do actually something I haven't seen before in other meters which is taking a moving average. In Keysight derived meters you can only put statistics on screen, but these only reset when you deliberately clear the buffer. With the DMM6500 you can just take the average of the past 50 values or whatever you want. Also it can do continuity testing with any limits, but also in reverse (so beep above limit instead of the other way around). Also, the beep will have a minimum length, which is another smart feature. Once you have worked with the joy of such an update rate, you never want to go back, and I think even at 1600+ it is a good deal for what you get. The only gripes with the DMM6500 are for me the max ohm range is 100 MEG, and the current inputs have crazy high resistance (I think 12k for the lowest current range).

    I watch your channel to get exposed to new items, however I am not a fan of first use or unboxing, it doesnt tell us anything. It would be nice to see a review of some of the items you have after real world use. example, I was looking for a secondary soldering iron for the bench for some tiny work, I watch your channel and realized, it was just ooh and ahh, but nothing to do with real use, you liked the iron, but I found out it doesnt hold up. - I know I come across so negative, but I want to offer real feedback, I like your stuff, I like your attitude and the stuff you show, but sometimes info of real world use would be most helpfull.

    Thanks for your feedback, i am happy to see most of it as it is what i want my channel to be. - short answer: check whats left on my bench after a while. - long answer below, how i make a selection 1. The first filter i have is, if there is no ooh ahh factor, it wil not endup in a video, maybe in a very rare case for other reasons. (i reject lots of items that are unreleted in my view) 2. i do the Hands-On videos so we can see the usability over stone cold component level. Super well designed A-component devices can still have terrible user interface. - Usability first 3. if an item is not usefull for me, it can still be very usefull for someone else, that is not up to me. everyone has different needs and uses it different. 4. if you want to know its useful for me, simply checkmy bench if it is still there after a while. i have 3 or more times equipment then can fit on my bench.. so if its there i prob like it. Thanks again for your time and effort to give me feedback and ofcourse, thank you for watching and hope to see you next time. And about the soldering iron... i am mainly using my old Weller. the little repairs i do on video, you will see that. for mobile i use now finaliy something more modern active pen thingy
