Watch the replay of Japan's Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu's Gold medal win against India's Sushil Kumar in the Men's Wrestling Freestyle 66kg Final during the London 2012 Olympic Games on 12 August 2012.
The 1900 Games were the only ones where wrestling was not present in any shape or form. As from the 1908 Olympic Games in London, Greco-Roman wrestling has always been included on the programme. Since the 1920 Antwerp Games, there have been both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions.

M Jave , I don't think that's how Olympic wrestling works. The individual advances not the team, you can't just substitute a person in his place. You might have 5 guys on the team, but they are all from different weight categories and have different skill-sets. Say one guy gets to the semi-finals, and doesn't want to compete anymore, so he should just get replaced by an alternate? Did the alternate wrestle his way to the semi-final to begin with? their is potential for abuse if they allowed that system to work. Then again I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain that you can't sub people in.

Why do the productions teams insist on that overhead shot for so long? It's "neato" for about 2 seconds but anyone who's wrestled knows we'll miss minute adjustments and lightning-quick changes that lead to a point scored.. especially at this elite level. A head or hand feint one way could mean a move another way. The cameramen and everyone should have to experience how tough it is. Then Olympic committee idiots may understand it's not just two people looking at each other, grabbing.

it's forbiden to grab the hands, but it's a rule that's not realy applied in general, so the ref slaped their hands once only, most refs don't care about that rule
