    Ur analogy of Gobert is terrible. 1. Prior to last game he was holding Jokic to like 40 percent from the field. Jokic made some incredible stops. Where was your hate when Rudy was effective on Jokic, or how about when Rudy guarded KD just fine. 2. Rudy wins DPOY not cuz he locks down other teams centers, but cuz he guards 5 positions at the same time. Yeah Denver had 2-3 games where they torched the defense. Minnesota also had 3 games where Denver didn’t even hit 90, and last game they only hit 70

Marcus Smart, DPOY, cant guard steph.. but it didnt take away how good of a defender Smart is.. its just Brown was better match with steph's skill set. same as Gobert and Jokic.. it's his show, his choices, for his purposes. It's not like he's going to have you approve what he says. What Draymond says in this various scenarios aren't empty words, despite any shade. He's giving a master perspective on the game of basketball, which most cognoscenti will take with a dose of MSG, but there's a lot of teaching, often at a level that's over the heads of some fans who get hung up on quasi-personality clashes. Savvy fans get out of their own way to hear and filter the actual knowledge he imparts, aside from his personal indulgences. People, you don't know basketball better than Draymond. Pretentiousness is a hollow use of energy.

  • @weights250

    @weights250

    28 күн бұрын

    @flash012234 Well that, buy mainly because even though Joker can drop 40 on you his biggest weapon is his passing and getting Nuggets easy points in the paint. With Rudy roaming, 90% of those easy points are eliminated. When Rudy is on Joker, not only can Joker back him down easily, but KAT doesn't offer the same high IQ paint protection. Game 7 will fully depend on KAT being able to stay out of foul trouble so that he can guard Joker and let Rudy do what he does best -- shut everything else down.

  • @weights250

    @weights250

    28 күн бұрын

    @lovemycity420 No. Draymond has missed the entire point of the Timberwolves defense. We don't want Rudy guarding anyone 1v1. We want Rudy to do what Rudy does best -- completely lock down the entire paint. Notice Joker only had 2 assists in game 6. And over the past two seasons, only averages 4.2 per game when Nuggets play Timberwolves. That is WAY below his averages. That's all Rudy. Rudy is a roamer of the paint providing the best 'help defense' in the league. That's why Timberwolves guards can be so aggressive on defense because if they get burnt, Rudy protects that rim. It takes high IQ to help on 3-4 players at a time. To be a good 1v1 defender, it's mostly about athleticism, strength and 'want to'. When Rudy guards Joker, there is no one else on the Timberwolves protecting the paint at a high level. KAT doesn't have the IQ for it -- but KAT is great 1v1 on Joker because of his size and strength.

  • @blkjeesus
    @blkjeesus28 күн бұрын

    Dray still throwing shade at Rudy and KAT. Man, this has nothing to do with centers guarding centers. You think Joker is a typical "center"? He has an all-time great IQ with all-time great skill, and just happens to be 6'11 and 284 lbs. You need whoever you can to guard him if they can guard him effectively. Since he was DPOY, should he have guarded LeBron when he played against him, or was he okay with Iggy getting that assignment? Draymond doesn't want MIN to win this game. And for obvious reasons. It would validate that his hate for Rudy and KAT have been unnecessary. What will his narrative be about them if they get past the Nuggets? He's preemptively trying to give credit to Ant for his leadership because he doesn't want to eat crow about Rudy and KAT.

    DRAYMOND has to be just straight HATING on Gobert because I know he has better basketball IQ than all of us watching his show. He knows that Gobert is all-time elite and incredible at HELP DEFENSE. Rudy doesn't have a strong base nor the quickness to guard elitly 1v1, but he's got the length and the highest of high defensive IQs 🧠 in the league to completely shut down every other thing that tries coming into the paint. Rudy is LEVELS above Draymond in regards to being a defender. And that's why he's salty as hell. Notice Rudy never hates on Draymond? He's not intimidated. Don't get me wrong, Draymond is an elite defender + elite point forward. His facilitating is elite, which makes him special as a basketball player. But he is not Rudy Gobert on the defensive end. Rudy is literally legendary, and his 4 DPOY awards prove it. No team was EVER going to give up 5 first round picks and half their team to get Draymond and that's just FACTS 🤜🤚🎤

Or the Kings in the playin this year… interesting to get your perspective on the loosing side… how you felt this ain’t our night or man I wish we had another tall 3 & D dude!

    A defensive specialist as Draymond is should know that defending a great player like Jokic takes an entire team. Yes Rudy can be better, but it's on the entire team to stop Jokic which we see no team can do if he decides to dominate.

    Also teams are usually favorites at home so the higher seed usually wins game 5 (at home). I'd be interested in seeing what the results are if you adjust for variables like: close seeds, the favorite loses game 5, etc

    Celtics not winning a ship isn't a failure because of the moves they made or the money. Its simply because they've already been to the ECF with this core a bunch. They'll have more roles of the dice too but this will be this will be the worst competition they'll have going forward in the east or finals matchup. All these teams are going to keep getting tougher.
