It's so cool to look back and see them so much younger.

I think shabani does is just to make them mad so they can chase him it's so hilarious it's so fun to watch he's a crack up I love it.

Shabani is the antagonist in this troop, next to Kiyo. Its so funny when they either smack the ground or smack the back of one of the family members, then run.....lol. There's trouble (fun) written all over his face, but he's the best father and leader.

I love how Shabani tends to lift his right leg and stand on his left a lot when he thumps his chest. I think it shows some individual personality.

Shabani is a beautiful male that loves to play around. He is kind and caring to his family. It's just sad to see him confined to this small space day after day. These gorillas(all) gorillas are highly intelligent and being confined like this, they lose that spark what makes them special. It's no different than to put someone in a jail setting and strip everything away from them and fed 3 backs meals a day. They would lose their mind soon after that.

Unfortunately we are destroying their natural habitat and zoos are one-way of keeping unique and varied bloodlines alive. As a westerner I feel it is not my place to condemn the locals that are loggers or eat bushmeat to keep their families alive and their children schooled/clothed/housed/fed.

I love watching them play, Shabani has a great personality.he is a beautiful gorilla.❤

He had to work so hard to keep his family engaged. They all seem so happy now and show love 💘 to each other.

Kelly s you don't know much about gorillas Behavior do you? This is absolutely normal for a gorilla family. If you've been watching other videos of the same family you will see that they are all getting along just fine. In fact Shabani is reportedly one of the best gorilla fathers ever seen in a zoo. He plays rough true but the others also play rough when they want to. This gorilla family has been very successful. Shabani likes to be chased that is why he likes to tease them so they will chase him.

+Allirog Gorilla I know more about primates than you think. So far all the videos I have watched of this family shabani is attacking Nene. probably for one reason because she is the lowest ranking female of the two. Shabani isnt chasing Nene because he wants to be chased. Nene is old and you can tell she has arthritis which looks to be getting worse. one day he will inflict wounds on her and will be deadly. she probably won't produce any more baby's so there fore this zoo keeps her there only for entertainment. which is wrong. Nene defficated in most of these videos which means she's scared. Me and you might disagree but that isn't helping nene at all. There is a time for fun, entertainment but this zoo should be looking out for the obvious. I know that this behavior is common in gorillas but the zoo shouldn't let it keep happening. a simular incident happened in another zoo and the silverback ended up killing that female that zoo knew exactly what was happening .

Kelly, after watching this particular video again, I can see your point in many ways, but if they were to remove Shabani, the family would collapse - Plain and simple, especially one this tight. If they were to remove Nene, The rest would be devastated, including Shabani. Maybe it's just the fact that Nene and Shabani just don't get along - perhaps Nene shows too much dominance in some way, or it could be something that we humans wouldn't even understand. I have to agree that the enclosure IS horribly small - and that a much larger exhibit would probably alleviate much of the teasing. I have seen a lot of teasing from Shababi, yes - But I have seen some videos of Nene actually going out of her way to spark Shabani into "rough play" and or chasing and teasing. If Shabani didn't want to be chased, than why does he run away with a "playface" - why does he jump away when Nene goes after him? He does bully her into action. but, If he didn't want to be chased, he'd stand his ground or overcome her. I agree there are times I have seen Nene get so angry or upset that she defecates - But if she so fearful, why does she go near him at all? Gorilla to gorilla deaths are extremely rare. But I do agree that the zoo keepers should find a solution to get Shabani to stop the teasing so much - maybe they can spray him with a hose everytime he starts trouble with her.

Eu não estou entendendo o porque o gurila está batendo na gulosa,se é uma uma rejeição Por que os veterinários e os cuidadores não faz essa desmembração, Por que provoca muito a gurila, e ela fica sendo maltratada de toda forma Isso aí é um cativeiro não é não é uma reserva onde ela pode sair e toma seus destino vive uma vida solitária assim como os gorilas quando chega a sua idade de 12 anos tem eles procuram sair formando seu proprio bando ou car solitário, ai torna difícil por ser um cativeiro ,alguém tem quer fazer essa análise neste recito,não é necessário este tipo de violência...
