Clarification: This deal gave T-Mobile master rights to 2,000 towers not ownership. You can learn more about this story here: cordcuttersnews.com/t-mobile-buys-uscellular-for-4-4-billion/

I have T mobile internet. Was working great with +16 speeds. A problem with a tower 2 weeks ago and now lucky to have 2 to 6 speeds.

I was a sprint customer I til the T-Mobile merger. And it was a very smooth transition. I signed up for t-mobile home internet and dumped cox and it’s been great ( a communication tower is above my apartment complex). I live in Nebraska and us cellular is a big player for rural Nebraska. I’m excited for the expanded coverage.

I have Verizon 5G Home Internet already with a 10 year price guarantee and LOVE IT. The exact opposite of Spectrum. I don't miss having to call them every year to renegotiate the price of my internet. That was a bunch of BS.

As a T-Mobile and former USCC customer, I am looking forward to this! T-Mobile struggles with coverage in the rural areas around me. I believe USCC has better coverage in those rural areas. TMO will hopefully take those towers and enhance their signal.

For several years, Google Fi wireless piggybacked off of the cell towers for T-Mobile and US Cellular. At some point, Google Fi dropped US Cellular towers for coverage. Looks like it will be coming full circle for Google Fi users.

I didn't know US Cellular was still around. I'm in the Los Angeles area and they were a cell site builder and cell phone service provider, but they disappeared here many years ago (maybe two decades ago?). Yeah, the transition won't be quick. When T-Mobile bought Sprint the deal closed in 2018 but the 5G phone and 5G wireless service upgrades didn't happen in my area until late-2022.

Unless you have bad Internet in your area, then agree 100%, and OTA Antenna TV is still good for a few stations like MeTV, the upcoming MeTV Toons, and Sinclair owned Comet which shows some good SciFi.

This will be good for more people to get better options for internet access, and for people who travel to get better cell phone coverage, in my eyes right now T-Mobile seems to be doing the to innovate of any cell provider in North America period, and I've been really happy with their Home internet service getting well over the average speeds up, and down, with idle pings better then the business internet at my work for a lot less money.

I wish Dish Wireless and US Cellular would merge. That way we would have a Big 4 again. Dish needs all the help it can get. I love T-Mobile but the rate it is expanding is just gonna lead to major price hikes.

I have T internet now and my coverage on the N71 band has disappeared. That's the 5G rural band as you probably know. When I asked T about this, they told me I never had 5G coverage. I explained that I have been using N71 for about 2 years and now all 5G metrics are gone from my router. They replied, "You never had it". Meanwhile my T cellular service is gettin worse. Coverage ares I used to have great service in are now marginal. I Hope the Purchase of US Cellular will help us in near urban areas.

I love my service with T-Mobile. I have service everywhere I go in rural areas and in urban areas however the other day I was in downtown of a large city and my bars went from full to just 1 and temporarily I lost signal for a few seconds. It slowed down my gps and I almost missed an exit before gps caught up. That’s the only time I have lost service.

That's good for my area because there is only 1 tower that is T-Mobile & it is 8-9 miles from my home & US Cellular has 1 that is 1 Mike from me. US Cellular has like 8 towers that I know of in my area & I'm talking about farm country. It's going to make a big Improvement in phone and Home Internet performance.

I am a current US Cellular customer. Unfortunately none of the other major cell service providers work well where I live. Had a bad experience with T-Mobile so may have to look at using Walmart’s Straight Talk or something like that to avoid dealing with T-Mobile again.

Excited? Not really. US Cellular coverage is no better than T-Mobile in my area. Plus, I think you have downplayed the regulatory hurdles this purchase involves. US Cellular is one of the last large regional carriers out there. I don't think the FTC (as well as the FCC issues) is going to rush to approve it. The current FTC is more aggressive in pursuing anti-trust cases and I expect approval, if forthcoming, will be very slow depending on the outcome of the election. Personally, I am not in favor of yet another merger. I don't think it will be good for most consumers and as we saw with the Sprint - T-mobile merger a few years ago, it actually resulted in lower quality service for many.

T-Mobile Home Internet Is Amazing. Unfortunately The Soft Data Caps And Back End QCI 8 and QCI 9 Is Not A Good Experience From Home Internet From A ISP. Coverage/Signal/Distance And After 1 Mile It Can Go Out The Window. Plus T-Mobile Is Not Good at Fixing Poor Coverage Within That First Mile When Their Is A Issue With Coverage. No Carrier Resolves Coverage Issue LOL. Trust Me I Have Tryed With No Luck

US Cellular at this point is in bankruptcy. So let's think about it what happened in the last decade for T-mobile. T-mobile bought Metro but sold Walmart Family Mobile and GoSmart to Tracfone. Sprint bought Clearwire but closed down Virgin Mobile USA before T-mobile's takeover. Which led to Boost being sold to Dish as a requirement. Also, as a requirement from Sprint, they have to provide affordable, broadband internet services, which led to the creation of their Cellular based home internet service. T-mobile needed something to replace the brands that were sold off. Mint and Ultra were the perfect choice. Plum is something for businesses. So I think for now, T-mobile should sell their 600mhz first before they can proceed to buy US Cellular.

  • @kenyattaclay7666

Who are the so many??? This is only the second carrier that they bought and the sold off Boost mobile and that transaction happened 6 years ago so it's not like they have been on this spending spree. They have owned Metro for a LONG time now so this would only be their second subcompany (at least here in the United States). They also make a ton of money from MVNOs and are rapidly expanding their 5G home internet. Lastly, you do realize that T-Mobile is one of if not the largest cellphone carrier in the world right. It's called T-Mobile here in the US but everywhere else it's called TD-1. T-Mobile is a German company and when I lived their they were the #1 carrier in Western Europe. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
