Pay attention and listen to your body. I experienced a life-changing injury doing bent over barbell rows. I've spent years trying to get back where I was. I can no longer do any non-braced pulling movements. There are far too many other exercise options and pieces of equipment available to risk it.

I've always felt that the T-bar is better than the barbel row. Less strain on the back. Dumbell rows are also great. The barbel row feels like a very "unatural" movement to me.

I agree and T bar always seems to hit the back more for me, I feel it. Whereas normal barbell row I feel like my grip or forearms are struggling more. It’s also nice to load on some 45s and start to win on the T bar 😊

Barbell rows with an underhand grip will feel more natural since you can track your elbows back and engage your lats a lot more. Straight back and pull the bar to your stomach.

T bar row is easier to control during the ecentric and decentric motion than barbell rows. However it creates an excessive strain on your infraspinatus muscles which can increase the risk of shoulder iniury. I have had issues with it that's why i prefer and suggest first do barbell rows and increase the thickness and then go for t bar.
