T-64 Failure, Kiev Still Decided not to Bring the T-84 into Battle - Why?

Analysts said that the upgraded variants of the T-64 and T-84 are the two most powerful types. It can be explained that the T-84 main battle tank is not in combat because their numbers are too small. The tight budget is the main reason why Ukraine cannot equip in large numbers. Estimated cost of T-84 is about 5-6 million USD / unit.
The total number of T-84 tanks of the Ukrainian army is currently only about 10. Although the country has increased orders, they are less likely to be replenished in bulk to fight in the East.

The T-64 was a sad tank when it was new. Now it's so outclassed it's just a moving target for Training purposes or to make an enemy use ammo.

Don’t think that’s why they don’t use the T-84’s. Fighting guerrilla forces it simply matter less what tank you use. You might almost as well use WW2 tanks as long the got upgraded with a modern targeting system and optical situational awareness systems. It seems obvious that it’s better to keep the T-84’s in the case Ukrainian needs to fight a conversational war. Also it’s better to sell a few if that means you can upgrade more T64’s. As mentioned they are doing the job, so two of them are better then one T-84, and the difference in numbers are most likely much bigger then that.

If the guerrillas got antitank weapons and you fight in an urban environment, you will see big loses, that happens to the T-90’s and the export version of the Abrams.

Wow, I know that nobody wants to buy upgraded T 64. Not even poor nations. Now I know why. Great inside, thanks my friend.

T-90’s and export versions of the Abrams were doing so well fighting in asymmetric warfare??? It depends a lot on how you use them, and how manny and effective antitank systems the opponent are operating. To make a difference in a some off the smaller conflicts for instance in Africa you don’t even need a T-64. Practically any rank can be a big advantage.
