For those wondering what happened afterwards: Syrena kissed Philip, confirming the legend that a mermaid's kiss prevents drowning by giving him the ability to breathe underwater, and pulls him into the pool to freedom. Their further fate is unknown. Many speculate their fate: Some say he lived with her, secluded from all mermaids to continue their passionate love life together and have mer-children. Others that he became part of the mermaids clan as a merman, leading them to repentance and faith, making them stop killing humans. Others that Syrena took Philip to safety to an island and transformed her tail into human legs, allowing her to have a human life with Philip. And some that he became King Triton from the little mermaid since this is Disney property LOL Considering the 5th Movie: Dead Men Tell No Tales... the Trident of Poseidon had power over the seas, including merfolk (mermaids). The Trident possessed the power to break ANY curse at sea, so once the trident was broken in the film, ALL CURSES and MAGIC was broken... Philip returned to his normal human form (as seen with Salazar and his crew, Will Turner released from Dutchman and... even Davy Jones being resurrected?) ... But what about the merfolk? They are mythical creatures of the sea, not curses. I personally believe the merfolk also turned into regular humans due to being half human. Thus, Philip and Syrena continued their love and family as regular humans afterwards, a happy ending to all characters in this Pirates franchise.

There was the leaked script for syrena in dead man no tells. She was sent by her people to get the trident to return faith in her people and to do this she must forget Phillip. After saving him she takes him to shore and leaves into the depths, once a mermaid is deep in the sea they forget all land memories.

@@Icantfeelyousugah Yes, I have heard of the leaked rough drafts, very interesting to think about... but as my film professors say: what matters is the FINAL DRAFT or FINISHED movie. Deleted scenes or draft ideas cannot be considered part of the story since it may slow the film down, provide unnecessary details or exposition, or even explain points that should be implied or said more subtly; allow the audience to be involved and use their imagination to fill in the gaps. What we see on screen is what happened (lore books and novels can expand if you wish) That is why many directors have director's cuts or special editions or extended editions on films, they want to show more than what the studio allows them. Since Pirates 5 didn't include nor mentioned mermaids in their film, we cannot take that leak as the official continuation of their story (although, pirates 5 retconned a lot of continuity issues in the franchise but that is another story LOL).

@@PerfectAlibi1 the show Siren on Hulu predicts “ randomly sprouting legs “ with much more science behind it , and magic , of course . while the legs do just “ come out of nowhere “ they are in a fairly large amount of pain during the process , as the nerves and skin and bones materialize in the transformation . i love this realistic version over the stereotyped magical transformation

i don’t think she killed him, since in the film it said that a mermaid's kiss saves a man from drowning and makes him breathe underwater.

Because in the movie they explained that there is a ritual to be done for the fountain of youth. Two chalices of Ponce de Leon and a mermaid tear, water from the fountain of youth needs to be mixed with the tear of a mermaid that way whoever drinks the that water the person gets younger/lives longer They tried to torture her for her tears but to no avail, she did ended up crying when she had a heartfelt moment with Philip and the bad guys caught the tear. Anyway she basically gave the chalices with her tear to Jack (which is the scene you saw) probably because she knew Jack would give good purpose for using her tear. So yeah that's basically it any more questions let me know
