Ammon Bakarri-O FOH. Durant was way better than Melo in college. It’s not his fault that the players around him wasn’t good. Plus his team didn’t hide by playing the 2-3 zone. That stuff is for pansies. Syracuse his Melos biggest weakness and that is his poor defense. Durant was special and it was beautiful to watch. Melo was great but he wasn’t doing what Durant was doing.

Nostalgia, what a run. Melo, GMac, and Warrick got the spotlight but can’t forget about Josh Pace and Billy off the bench. Pace was so clutch. And then Jeremy McNiel blocking everything. Cuse should bring back these jerseys too. Classic team. They destroyed the Big 12 on their way to the chip.

A Syracuse alum, was watching this actually in Christchurch New Zealand ... on vakay .. saw SU trash Texas on a layover in Kuala Lumpur, and then got to see this in a local bar in Christchurch where I had to pay the bartender a hefty tip to watch this instead of local rugby, and by end of game, HUGE crowd hunkered around the bar rooting like crazy for SU and drinks flowing like crazy .... I was 12, living in upstate NY, grounded from all television privileges when this game was on. I watched it in silence on a tv built in the 1970s, and couldn't be happier when the Orangemen won. It felt so surreal. Got busted by my dad when I started cheering. Got beat for it. Still a good memory. Go orange.

We drove 22 hours from SU for the final four. After the game was over the Kansas fans could not have been any nicer. We have pics of them posing with their index fingers pointing at us, like "they're number 1." Syracuse fans would not have been so gracious. It was a great weekend because we won, but also because Marquette, Texas, and Kansas fans were so much fun to be around even after losing

@@vasantos-re4hb not really! When it came down to it, their we're two underlying factors u obviously aren't aware of if that's your reasoning! 1) Hinrich and Collison were the remaining links to the 1999-00 class that had been influential in him not taking the Carolina job then and they were graduating 2) outgoing Kansas AD Bob Frederick - Frederick was AD at Kansas when Dean Smith had recommended Roy for the KU job in 1989! Frederick and Williams became the tightest of lifelong friends and co-workers! There'd been speculation once Frederick announced he was stepping down between the '02 and '03 seasons Roy wouldn't stay! Plus an added outlier was Roy did not like Frederick's replacement! And Roy made it clear several times in the media his disdain for the guy! Yes he wasn't gonna turn down the Carolina job a second time because of the respect he had for Dean! But your theory being it was because Kansas lost was not a factor or at least a legit one in his decision whatsoever

Look at the first half, KU wasn't coached up at all. And the free throws, they weren't coached up the entire season.

Kansas Free Throws/ 9-24, with 6mins left. Dwn 8pts at the time. Unreal. Even without Wayne Simien? Roy Williams HAD right gameplan. KU just didn't execute at Line. Kirk Hinrich was terrible. He is my fav Jayhawk ever. Talk bout Jackykl/Hyde? Vs Marquette? Hinrich was outstanding/not timid. Simien in there? KU wins..Graves was great for us 2yrs... But night/day diff with Wayne

Lebron is my favorite player and goat, but I think if he would have gone to college. He would have been able to expose. His weaknesses much faster. I also believe he might not have gone number one. You may have gone second behind Carmello. Ultimately making him the goat faster to me. But hindsight it's twenty twenty

KU won 🏆, 2008. Roy? (0-3) vs KU after he left to UNC. All 3 losses to KU in NCAA Tournament. All 3 by double-digits. Twice UNC was #1overall seed(2008, 2012.) "2020" NCAA Tournament is a crapshoot. It should least be a double-elimination for #1seeds. Extra advantage for having such great reg season. Make reg season matter more. KU played in 9 National Title games. Twice losing in OT, 3OT. Then playing this game without soph Wayne Simien (16ppg, 9rpg.) 1st team AA in 2005. Point is? Bad luck. KU could EASILY have 6 Nattys. But their time is coming. Self has them contending every year 10 Elite8s/5 Final Fours in last 17 years alone? KU Eventually going to break thru with like 2 Nattys in 3 year span.
