Super informative video!! This video made soooo much sense as to why my car’s been acting up!!

Very helpful video. I am about to replace my fuel rail pressure sensor. My issue is it will run steady for a little while, then peg at five volts. Of course, codes for high input, range/performance. I assume this is just a bad sensor, so! Replace. While I do so I will test for the correct voltage, if so I'll go ahead and put the new one on. As well, I am replacing the fuel pump driver module. I have a rough idle, it recently stalled out and died on the interstate, totally died on an off-ramp. I figure replace both, just incase. I have to take the intake off of this 07 explorer to get to the sensor. Will clean the throttle body, injectors, etc. If the fuel rail sensor isn't the issue, it is time to look at fuel filter, pump... Spark plugs, wires, coil pack are other things. Seems to me this is the best way to address the issue. I'll reply to this comment if I have any luck, this seems to be a somewhat common issue with my vehicle

Lincoln MKZ 2008. Erratic starting, not trouble all the time. I will see a guy with a code reader. However, I cannot find the fuel pressure sensor. I read it may be in passenger side footwell. Any clues?

Are both high and low sensors the same part? Or is there a difference?

Had fuel system problems on a 2005 Ford expedition 5.4. Codes have been all over the place. Mostly a lean and misfire bank two, but then it started not to run. A high fuel pressure has been pretty consistent among the codes. What I have found is there is fuel bypassing the sensor, running up a hose to the throttle body cover and flooding the engine with fuel. Is this a failure caused by too high pressure? There is no test port to check rail pressure on this engine, and with a bypass no way to read thee sensor.

I Have a 2010 LT Impala 3.5 and When It’s On And It Gets To Temperature It Doesn’t Move At All What Could that Possibly Be My Trans Shifts Perfectly My engine Is Bullet Proof But It just doesn’t Reverse or Drive Forward It Shifts If I hurry up and turn it on And Drive It But After it doesn’t want to accelerate No more plus I Have no engine Light Codes

What is the difference when it comes to trouble shooting a fuel pressure sensor on a direct injected high pressure system?

The Shrader valve on the high-pressure fuel pump measures the low-pressure fuel pump in the gas tank. I use a fuel pressure gauge to see what the fuel pressure is and match it to the reading from a scan tool. If they don't match, then the sensor is likely bad.

Would it stall???... I made a video just today and posted it on my channel if you want to take a look but I've replaced the fuel pump camshaft position sensor throttle position sensor... and just ordered a map sensor too

My bmw 3 liter turbo diesel (m57d30) runs okay above 1k rpm, power while driving and torque seems to be great, but on idle engine runs rough, no error codes, not even a check engine light, is there a possibility FRPS could be the case?

Also, all injectors were tested and restored, reprogrammed to the car - problem did not go away

I have a BMW X5 diesel that shuts off on the highway and at idle sometimes with a little bit of a hard start after. I was wondering if you figured out your problem and see if it correlates with mine?. Thanks for any input

Hi. I have that code. But when I install the new one, it doesn't start. So I put the old one back and it smokes a lot. But after a few minutes it settles down. Help

Hi, I have a 2000 CLass A Winnabago Sunflyer with a F53 chasis V10 6.8 liter Ford. 2 weeks ago it was driving fine and then all of a sudden the engine stopped running. It will crank but wont start.I checked the relays and fuses, all were ok. I changed the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator. Still the same symptoms, i pushed on the shrader vale located on the fuel rail and very little fuel pressure was coming out. I dont have a fuel pressure guage and my wife and I are both disabled and cant afford RV tech mechanics at 200.00 $ an hour. Any help or suggestions you or anyone can please give me. Thank you.

A no-start can be caused by many things and needs to be troubleshooted. The first thing is to verify the engine is getting gas and spark. Automotive stores often have loaner fuel pressure gauges that can check the fuel pump. There are low-cost inline spark tester tools for $10-$15. Once one thing is eliminated as a possible cause, the problem can be narrowed down.
