Backhanded compliments are just the thing everyone likes to hear. Drew, you have a responsibility in society not to be a bully. To be taken to account when you are one. And to apologize if you realize you made a mistake. This would be akin to a person saying that someone’s hat is cool then pointing and laughing because they are blind. I hope you can understand how your words matter. If not, that’s okay. I have a great sense of humor… laughing at things like this are not funny.

@@rickbrower5794 I don’t understand why people get so offended/triggered over the smallest little things. Comparing him making an observation about his dialect to laughing at someone who is blind is a piss poor analogy. If he said something like “It’s pronounced “vehicle” not “vyhricle”, idiot.” Then that would be rude and completely unnecessary, but All the guy did was comment about an observation he made. He shouldn’t apologize nor does he have a need to. If you don’t like what he said cry about it and move on. Grow up.

In my '87 Ford 5.0L, fuel pressure is relative to the intake manifold, so the gage reading (relative to atmosphere) will drop with engine running, and can vary at least 10 PSI as you blip the throttle. The fuel tank is flat and sloshes badly even when fuel level is low. The resulting weight transfer makes it much more difficult to manage (and more dangerous) than you would think, so I made an attachment for my floor jack that supports the tank more widely AND also keeps the jack itself from tipping over. This has come in handy for transmissions that like to roll off the jack.

I love you man, I know I'm a year late for saving my expedition but fuel pressure or the Fuel pump shat the bed. I had to keep my foot on pressed slightly on the gas, otherwise it would stall. It's last day with me, it stalled in traffic and thankfully I managed to steer into a side street with no power, everything just shut down so it required some strength to steer that beast. 1999 expedition with the V8 Triton engine. Lesson learned.

I'm going to test out the fuel pressure and look into the pumps next. I have a 98 Jeep ZJ I just purchased with the 4.0 and this video has helped me tremendously on how to use a fuel gauge properly. I've purchased from you before with great results and will do the same if my pump turns out bad. Question: I found my fuel fill-up compartment is busted down at the bottom inside where the gas cap seats and the little flapper door is broken and pushed to the side...... I'm hoping that is the problem and i need to borrow my buddies fuel gauge. Hence this video is a big help. Thanks and Merry Christmas 🙂

Great video!! I have a 08 5.3, torqstorm, all stock block, upgraded aeromotive 340 fuel pump and 80lb injectors. At times I'd have to bled my fuel rail to start my truck. Idk what's causing this.

I like your video. I have a Chevy s10 4.3 that has sit for 6 years with about 1/2 tank of fuel. I put a battery in it and filled it with fuel leaving the old fuel in it. Drove it about 100 miles and suddenly it lost power and stalled and run piss poor. Could only drive it about 5 miles an hour to get it home. Put about 5 cans of fuel cleaner and fuel booster with injector cleaner in it. Each day now I start it and let it run until it dies. Noticed the fuel pump makes a louder noise since this happened. It seems to run a little smoother each day. Hoping it will clear up in a week or so. Thanks for the video.

Very informative. I changed my fuel injectors because my car was running rich and I could smell a heavy petrol scent near the engine. When I changed them my car was running a lot smoother however still some hesitation on startup and fuel scent. While I changed them I could see that my intake valves were MASSIVELY caked with carbon deposits. Could this be the cause of my car running rich and having a hesitation om startup? Or should I check fuel pressure regulator? I am going to clean my intake valves this month just to be safe, but maybe you guys know? Best wishes from the Netherlands 🍀

Thank you very much. Basically all the information needed about fule system. But what I didn't understand is why did you need to change the sending unit if the problem is the fule pressure regulator?

On some cars the regulator is inside the pump and make more sense to replace the whole thing

Great video, and thanks for posting. I had a leaking fuel filter on the tank side of the filter. I put a hose clamp on both sides of the filter and that seems to have fixed the leak. There was and is a 2-3 second delay in combustion before and after I fixed the filter leak. I've suspected that it might be the pressure regulator causing the delay. Your video makes me lean that way even more now. And, yesterday I noticed for the first time evidence of a small fuel leak just below the pressure regulator but also very close to the fuel rail connector. I have an '02 Taurus DOHC Duratec engine. I assume there's a replaceable O-ring on that fuel rail connector ?

I have these issues, made a video with my phone with a manometer cranking and my mechanic says replace the pump. But i think better also filter and pressure regulator then. Thanks a lot!

Super cool video. But he didn't cover diagnosing fuel pressure drops at the injector end or the fuel pump side of the fuel system. In other words, is the system leaking down before the fuel rails or after?

Yes got a lot of information from that thank you I have a 2002 suburban with a 53 the motor was bad I changed it didn’t realize that it was flex fuel truck and I put a regular gas motor in it didn’t realize it till I was all done and the gas was running funny finally realized it fixed a couple things now my fuel pressure is at 45 psi and it’s slowly leaking after a reasonable amount of time I’m wonderingIf it’s the pump or the regulator surprisingly I didn’t have many issues changing over from the flex fuel some said I had to reprogram my ECM I did not so please any response would be grateful thank you so much

Len did good on the video however i felt that he couk have went more in depth with the fuel pressure gauge he ran through the demonstration to fast and i would have liked to see every step of him attacking the gauge and seeing the results overall he done a great job /// my question to him is how do i get the fuel pressure up to regulation on my Toyota sequoia 2003 to allow it to start ??
