Thanks for 200 Subscribers! Didn't expect my last video to blow up the way it did! Also accidentally fiddled with some settings and filmed this in 1080Hd instead of 4k, so video unfortunately isn't as sharp as my others. Edit: typo at 13:58 misspelt Ruapehu

Oh to be young and fit. Again!! So neg 4°C.?? Fairly cold eh? Great footage mate. Great episode. Really pleased I found your channel. Have to notify a mate of mine, also in his 70's, about your channel. He's still a member of the FMC.....and sends me their online newsletter. Last one was April. Btw...if you do Ruapehu ,maybe later on when conditions are better, try doing the 3 peaks in one hit. Tongariro, Ngauruahoe, and Ruapehu in 22hrs. Not solo. A bit tricky in the dark though. Why do that.? Because people in their late 70's, used to be young once, but knew what they were doing. I see I have more binge watching to do. Looking forward to it. A huge thanks for sharing your experiences. As I said before, "oh to be young again." I'll try and boost your numbers, by contacting friends who have been a few places. Take care mate, and all the very best.

Wow dude... just wow!!! What a spectacular view and place. Another one added to the to do list. I hate steps....Would much rather climb up a hill than go up steps but if it gets you to a place like that well worth it. Thanks for taking us along. See ya on the next one 👍

Took me back to 31 Jan when I did the same. No ice but beautifully clear conditions and the strongest wind I have ever experienced on leaving the hut in the morning. With a tail wind I must have broken the world land speed record on the flat bit before you drop down onto the scree. You mentioned the steps - at the time there was a work party replacing the old wooden staircase and it looks like they finished it for you. Not sure which is harder - wooden steps or scree! I think you were better off having semi frozen ground as the ascent when I did it was horrendous. One step up and 3 back as the ground was bone dry. Your GoPro did pretty well in HD but as you say it's much better in 4K. Easy mistake to make.

Nice video, well done. Use the poles in the scree and rocks on the way up bro?

That hut is beautiful. How does it compared to the Hudson Europe and the Alps and Dolomites?
