I have more respect for Sly than any other celebrity. This man has made hundreds of millions of dollars throughout his career but still is maybe the most humble spirit I’ve ever known. He stands tall among an ocean of selfish, bratty, and fake celebrities that surround him. He’s real and a breath of fresh air in a polluted and stagnated filled industry.

Stallone basically is Rocky what a great writer and actor, you are a true icon Mr. Stallone.

Words cannot describe how much I look up to this man. Life has delt me so much blows and I have so many scars and internal wounds and I always remember the heartache and struggles this man went through and I always pick myself up and swing away. I really hope one day I could shake Sly’s hand and thank him for giving me the strength and courage to keep fighting.

The magic of Rocky is how real it feels, the characters are real. So much so there was a statue of Rocky. How amazing is that

I’m so glad he stuck to his guns and wanted to play Rocky himself. I couldn’t imagine Ryan O’Neal (The Studio’s first choice to play the character) playing rocky and pulling off how genuine the character is. Best decision ever was for them to give in and let Stallone play him. Now Rocky is immortal and so well played and written, there’s a part of me that actually thinks he’s a real guy, even when I know he’s not.

But you are alive, aren't you? Most people at this age already have given up on their lives but you are still fighting whether you are Rocky or not. Your character is still living with you and in every on of us who believes in themselves.

Forget about the Oscars, Sylvester Stallone should have won a Nobel Prize for his contribution to humanity. I don't any single man has done more to get people motivated to change their lives like Sylvester through his character Rocky. Check any person's workout track in a gym and I will guarantee that there is a Rocky montage in most of them. This man was a writer, actor, director, and producer in many of his films. What an underrated talent Sly is. So much more than an "action hero".

He's so right, the Rocky/Adrian scenes make the whole fucking thing work. Talia Shire is incredible in those scenes, heartbreaking, Rocky too. Magical shit.

As a grown man his Stallone to me , as a kid he will always be rocky , and i knew him as rocky first. When i watch it now i still get tears in my eyes , it reminds me of me as kid , the neighborhood i grew up in my dad just so much . Fuck it tears me inside at the same time i get to see the kid in me . This man gave me a time machine. Thank you so much

This is the best interview that Sly has ever made with regards to Rocky. It’s an old interview, but it never gets old. He explains everything from the writing process to the casting. My dad used to complain about Sly. Saying he was just an actor that got lucky and in someways he was. But who is the millionaire? Not my father, he’s dead now but I made my point to him before he died. Even if your not a Rocky fan, you should watch this. It is a lesson in life and never giving up. That’s all I got to say about that. (sorry Forest).

It's so interesting hearing him talk about Rocky and his ideas/ inspirations behind itm he must be an amazing soul to create this mnasterpiece no other film likd it ever made!

I think the measure of a man is from the great things he accomplishes, not the mediocre ones. On that level, Stallone is a truly talented man, there is no doubt about that.

Rocky is going to be engraved in everyone minds not just now but 20 30 40 years from now and what we all need is for Creed to continue the franchise even further... if you watched Creed II you should have captured the moment when Creed won against drago and that fist bump from rocky before rocky said **Its your time now** lets hope the Legend lives on

good story motivation i can relate so much

I had a guy in the building I work in tell me about Stallone and the leg work he put in to get the first film made.. Rocky literally proves how we still treat him today. He's misunderstood sometimes.. He will always be one of the greatest action stars of any generation. And he wrote some of the best films you can possibly watch. Legendary.

Rocky's story is probably my favorite

I grew up loving Rocky. Way back when, I told my ex that we should watch it together. I promised her she would like it. (She was into British romances.) Eventually she agreed and was surprised at how romantic it was. Rocky is really a love and perseverance story with a wide appeal.

@@maxshabazz1543 Yeah, it was a different era, that is for sure. Nowadays, people would say that Rocky raped Adrian of their first date.......granted, it did feel a little uncomfortable in retrospect. Rock definitely wasn't taking no for an answer lol.

There were so many points at which this whole story could have turned out completely different and changed not only Stallones fate but also the fate of many others from back then until today and in the future. Imagine if the Rocky movie never came out. I, for one, am not sure if I would be were I am right now.

Its a good message, but Stallone never could differentiate between himself, and the tough guys he plays.
