Have been studying Sly since 1977 - "Then Arnold AND Sly - then Arnold, Sly and ..."

Stallone has always been one of my idols and I've learned much from him over the decades. The two rules that resonate with me most at this point of my life are:#2 - TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE: no one is ever going to look out for your best interests except you #4 - BE FUELLED BY FEAR: having had fear in the past year of my life has made me become more productive than ever

Really nice video, He wrote Rocky after seeing a Mohamed Ali fight, He was struggling big time in does days and refused all the offers to buy his script, until some director let him play the part of Rocky. he sold his dog to eat and with the little money they paid him, he bought the dog again and it appeared with him in the movie.

I've read Stallone's book, I've been a fan all my adult life. What you put here are just cliche's. What I've gained from Stallone is this: 1. moderation. Every week, Sly takes Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon off from his training and eats ice cream, anything he wants. 2. no diets. he eats for his life, exercises for his life and the goals he wants to make. 3. It's all about family. 4. Be creative. Sly isn't just an actor or writer, he's also a painter and a business owner. Don't stick yourself in one lane. Anyway, I highly recommend to anyone to read his book, absorb it, write your own notes in it, it will change your thinking and your life.

Few people know he was born with partial paralysis on one side of his face because of a mistake the doctor who delivered him. He stuttered, struggled with talking and writing, and struggled with extreme poverty. He once said that they were so poor the only "toys" he had was a barrell he found on the street that he used to roll around his neighborhood with a stick.

While I think all of them are valid, I think taking control of your life is perhaps the most. So many people are willing to relinquish control to their employers or whomever, but until you take control of your life, this other stuff won't have as big an impact.
