How fast will Sydney go?

51.50x. But it is much more interesting what Femke will do now? I bet she will go 400m "opposite of Sydney" in Paris to ensure a gold chance individually and then of cause bet on a Mixed 4x400 gold and medal in 4x400 women.

Tbh I think she only wants to get the legs spinning over the hurdles of course she is great shape I just believe the WR will fall at her peak in paris I say 51:76 time If she says she will break it then she will but it her reason opener. Bummer for Femke she is great but will lose again if syd ain’t injured. Crazy that she competes so much recently real pleasure to see her

Do you know what is with Brommel. Is he injured and what are his chances to get selected for the Olympic team by USA?
Let's just give Sydney space to do her thing. Athletes don't have to set a PR or world record every time they step on the track. I'm just happy to see her compete.

The gag of people saying she'll only run "51.something" just shows how goated she is. Only 3 women have only run 51. That's an unheard of time even now haha.

@@RobertJohnson-bj5lk Totally agree! But from seeing how effortless she cranked out that 200m, I think she has a big chance getting close to her record... or even surpassing it. At any rate, cannot not wait to watch the Post Covid Olympic Games this year!!
I don't think she'll be going for WR pace in Atlanta. My bet is it's simply a practice run to see how she can put all of the pieces together from her sprint work earlier in the season. She and her coach are very methodical and they're going to save the WR stuff for the Olympics.

Wait? Bol did look like she had overcome La Cid's advantage particularly in the middle of a race. How in the hell could anyone predict, except for Bob, you and Nostradamus that La Cid is the fastest person in recorded history in an interval of 200 to 800 meters? We did not know she was kicking asses in that range and leaping over tall objects in the center of tracks too. We did not know she is the taker of names and pass them to Saint Peter. But we know all of that now. Forgive us for not being clairvoyant. Please, please, please make room for us on the bandwagon?

Every once in a while there are elite athletes who are able to excel above all other elite athletes, once in a generation people, then there are those that aim higher and achieve even greater successes and set world records that stand for decades. Sydney is one of those and you sit/stand and watch and applaud them for their abilities. Love watching her, she is a complete athlete who puts in so much effort, she deserves everything she gets and even if 2024 Olympics does not yield the result she wants, she is still worth watching. She holds her head high and appreciates every moment and does not expect to win everything, personally, I just hope she does, she deserves every success she achieves. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

51.3 Can't wait to see this. She has taken almost 1.5 seconds off the record so far, over 2.8% (can't find a single other track athlete who's matched this, not Warholm, not Johnson, not even Bolt). Don't think she will improve on it at this meet, but wouldn't be surprised if she still runs faster than anyone else in history EXCEPT herself.
Just wait for her to get to the Olympics, she could for sure do it in Paris
Coach Kersey has Sydney working on her speed, which means she is going to better her time. It’s her against the clock, who’s going to push her to go faster?

Hopefully she can get the sub 50 at this meet and do the 400m in Paris 😉
Her name is misspelled (or misspelt) in this excellent overview. Thanks
Honestly, sub 52 would be a great run after all this time away from this race. Shake off some rust and set up to drop times through trials and the Games.
Yes
she won't go full out, she'll save her best for the Olympics
I do not know if someone already mentioned here but in the 2024 LA Grand Prix - Women’s 200m, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone ran 22,07 with a reaction time of 0,548s!!! About 0,3s slower than the fastest reaction times in this same race. Which means that, with a good start, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone could have achieved a 21,7x / 21,8x mark

a slight tailwind on the home stretch i find is the best, as on the back stretch, you dont need to fight as hard, so the wind doesnt affect you as much, and the tailwind on the home stretch makes the final 100m so much better

50.33
I think she can break her world record but this is just a tune up for Paris. She is best
I predict she'll be under 51. Man, I'd love to see her keep running the 200 though, so fun.
200, 400, 4x400 (split time), even 400 hurdles outdoors, Sydney PB faster than Femke. It’s up to you if you still say Femke is faster
How come she's not also running the regular 400 meters in the Olympics?
I'm thinking that she's going to save the world record for the Olympics. I believe that in Paris she's going to go sub 50 seconds.
Its a tune up for the Olympics. She will run 51.20
That 200 was in SNEAKERS btw
She needs to run the flat 400. How many times can she break her own record.
I doubt she'll break the WR, as it's not only her debut this season, but REALLY, her "debut "in 400m hurdles in couple of years.. she'll win, W/O a doubt, an probably in around 51, but on the other hand, she JUST may want to show Femke who's the best, and run all out... depending on her strategy and conditions, anything is possible 👍❣️💪
