She admitted her wrongs after she got caught. What the article doesn't mention is that her teammates on the relay teams also lost their medals, and had to return the money they received from competing and placing. So, she effectively screwed them all over too. Jones was selfish, a cheater, and dishonest, and people who trusted her got hurt.

She admitted it because she was caught deads to rights. She even went on the Oprah Winfrey show during it's hey day and lied to her right to her face with her snaggled tooth. If people would be honest with themselves and not so self-righteous, this is a good example of the tribulations of normal life. If you are talented, there is an early time period of fantasy land where everybody thinks you can walk on water. So, you try not to disappoint people, but you soon realize it is an impossible standard to uphold. Eventually, you either cheat or come to grips with how you actually cannot walk on water. Then adult life begins.

Imagine all the athletes still denying drug use...walking around with no jail time and haven't lost a dime, homes, etc. Too many to mention...you can fill in the several blanks.
My opinion: For when I started hearing about the rumors and allegations that Marion Jones was taking performance enhancing drugs, I was giving her the benefits of the doubt. I stopped feeling sorry for her when I began to notice the pattern of her promoting a drug-free image only to end-up getting caught...with drugs herself. It was then that I realized she wasn't taking drugs by accident. She was doing it by her own free-will. I can appreciate her admitting to it, but she shot her credibility to hell. That's mainly why she retired from track and from sports in-general. I suspect the pressure of having to win is what drove her to cheat.
The best women athlete to ever exist no matter what.
I still have a lot of respect for her

A respect for her cheating? Sounds real intelligent. SMH.
Victim of Character Assassination! 🙏 Her 4 making the more "CORRECT" than right purpose & path 4 redemption! Was a inspirational athlete growing up before learning she was related 2 my half brother's cousin!
Marion Jones will remain my best athlete in track and field ever and ever 💪💪💪💪
I always admired and love her, all have sin and come short, God got her, He is a God of chances
This really really sucks for the honest athletes who competed against her. I did not know her story. But the minute I saw the her build, it was very obvious. How she got away with it for so long?? How do you come back from that?

The thickened neck (look at Flo Jo's photos) and the totally ripped biceps are the giveaways in women. Now, instead of competing against drug enhanced females, they are competing against men pretending to be women who need no drugs. What a crazy world!

And people actually thought Flo Jo was clean lol, which is laughable . One look, and you could see she was doped to the gills

You don’t, my daughter ran against her in high school when she was cheating then. So many track stars suffered from her cheating
She beat Merlene Ottey for the gold while doping, but they did not give Merlene the first place or the gold, even though Marion was disqualified. Ben Johnson also was disqualified for doping and they gave Carl Lewis the gold .
I was watching all her games when i was 6 years old. I really loved her
Peaks and valleys. It's amazing what trials some people go through. She survived. There was no mention of faith. Who picked her up and brushed her off when she was down?

God did all that for her that is why she can stand tall and speak up
Dispite of what she did or happened to her she is a great woman
In the end she prevailed ! 👏
