Because the league threatened to sue them. Many players refused to play but the teams were still forced to play without those substitutes who refused to play. They can use the human rights commission to do so.

Just sit on the field with kit on for 90 minutes. And read books, discuss philosophy, catch up on emails or whatever. There would be no default, so the league couldn’t complain.

Every night a great aussie band playing somewhere...probably twice a week for over 10 years I soaked up every minute of it.

The binary article on this subject claims one of these disgusting cheating blokes broke a women players leg who now no longer plays soccer and a player who said words to this bloke was suspended for weeks for discrimination and no longer plays too. And the league told the teams they will charge and fine the teams if they didn't play

This is very amusing given that women have been fighting this ideology for over 50 years now and have been roundly ignored, just as they're ignored today, and also bullied and threatened into silence. As an example, when a man built like a brick shithouse who called himself 'Hannah' wanted to play in the women's AFL recently - just as women had gotten their own league in fact, which was very telling - every single interview I saw on the news and current affairs included Hannah and panels of his fellow men, all in support of him. One well known panel show only included the views of women after it was pointed out that no women were given a voice on the panel, except a 'transwoman' but of course. This ideology is unadulterated misogyny. Do you think the misogynists making policy, running the sporting organizations and the media give a shit what women have to say? That's the entire problem.
