    Hi Joe, that is a very nice blade. I have never owned a Katana. They look awesome. Happy Veterans Day. My respects to the Veterans’ sacrifice and professional work. I met a guy once whose Grandfather captured one (Katana)off a Japanese Officer in the Solomon Islands. Ok to be more accurate he picked it off the ground after the officer had fallen in battle. I know this review is from a year ago and Im new to Cloudhammer but excited I found RVA Katana. Its great to buy from a US based dealer like John that really loves swords and they are connecting with customers on facebook and other groups. I have this sword and the Torrentail Dragon in my cart. The same and ito colors look different on your review samples but these look really tough and beautiful and different than most of the swords being made in Longquan. Where is Byzer/Cloudhammer made? Do they engrave the smiths name on the tang.

    Thank you for the comments, they are made in China, but they ship some stuff in from Japan, I think...maybe that's a question for John...I haven't seen from the sword I took apart any Mei on the nakago, no...glad you are getting the service and swords you need

    Nice sword and good overview! Great camerawork through to the end. I like that double ring tsuba in solid brass, and the tsuka looks good. Suguha hamon is always classy and lends a mature look to the blade, eh! Just out of curiosity, was the blade a little bent to begin with, or did that happen during the cuts? 8:02 I paused and put a ruler against my tv because something looked off. Blade appears very slightly bent towards the omote side at the monouchi. Curious about the bend/set resistance of these swords. I know any DH can bend, but just curious what were the circumstances? Not trying to have at ya, just honestly curious. Great video all around

  • @JoeSteel1

    @JoeSteel1

    Жыл бұрын

    Didn't notice any bend, if I recall I noticed an inaccurate sharpening job with the zero grind at that part but not a bend, I did not cut it with it at that point of the video was untouched...good keen eye, the extreme closeups show everything 😉
